Just the opposite of all you go getters, getting wounded… I really didn’t do anything yesterday. I took 2- 2 hour naps and watched Supercross and then the NASCAR Clash from the couch. Other than that, I ate good, healthy food actually. I’m trying to eat healthier, and for that and the rest- I’m feeling pretty good today. I still hope you all and your loved ones heal quickly.

I’m happy to say I’m watching my daughter make chain mai out of pop tabs. She makes some pretty interesting props and replicas.

I threw in a pic of a replica of a helmet she made. I wonder if anyone recognizes helmet that she was copying?

You have a patient and talented daughter! I love the idea of pop tab chain mail. How did she source the tabs? That’s a lot to drink.
I don’t know what helmet she is replicating but I like it. I’m guessing it from a movie? 🎥 🍿

I know that helmet but i just can't put my finger on it. Betty Lou and I love watching the med evil and viking movies and series. I can almost picture a rider coming out of the fog on a moonlit night on horseback with that helmet on. Dark and intimidating.

She’s got her dad’s sense of humor, too…

The tabs were collected over a very long period of time, some of them from her friends, and so on. I was counting the number of monster energy drink tabs in there… not too many 😂

I was going to guess say that movie! I should have. But I didn’t know, it was just a guess.
How old is your daughter? She should look into honing her skills and using it as a possible occupation or at least an extra income earning side business. I know a fella that does that same type thing but with sewing movie replica clothing. He makes good money doing that and it’s a side gig for him. Some of the real movie buff/nuts will pay good $$$ for well made replicas. Just a thought that I’m sure that you have already considered.

Very high winds and rain all day. I tried to take the 01100 boat tour out. Backed the scow out of the slip and tried to swing her bow downstream with the current and full starboard helm. Once I got her broadside to the current the wind (blowing upstream) caught her and we started ferrying up current. Hard to port and full astern all she would do is back perpendicular to the flow. I literally could not get the bow pointed into the wind. The river ain't wide enough for too much of that so I put the helm hard to port and shoved the throttle to the stop. Bucking and spewing mud she rounded up into the current and I pointed her back into the slip. I apologized to the passengers and told them I was aborting the tour due to unsafe winds. I canceled the next three tours in the course of the day. Finally we ran a boat at 1600 but the sun didn't come out until the last tour of the day at 1630.
