Went to town.  Bought the memsahib a new mattress topper 3" thick.  Bought myself a set of LED shop lights and stands.  We stopped at the liquor store, the pharmacy and the gas station in addition to the grocery store and tractor supply.  At least $500 poorer now.

Went to the best place in town,  the dump and also went to the second best place in town, the gas station.   Most people at the gas station were filling up cans with gas for their generators.   First snow storm of the season is on the way.   Wife is also retired now so I don't care if it takes me a few days to clear the driveway.  When I got home, I spent some  time picking up dead branches off the lawn-ish areas around the house.   They'll be snow covered soon so this could be my last chance before spring.   I enjoy working outside and can always use some exercise.

I did yardwork for 3 hours and worked up a sweat in 61°F, it is amazing how much work it takes to have a yard with no grass that still looks ok. I think I burned off the Pizza calories.

Took Babygirl back to campus for her last semester of college.  Just 4 months to graduation.  Hope she finds a career instead of a job after all that hard work,  I am blessed to have enjoyed mine for over three decades,

I gassed up, aired up and fired up the old lawn tractor and blew leaves out of the area that Betty Lou and I cleared this summer. What trees we left standing have dropped all their leaves so I wanted to clear them to bare ground so we can see if we can gets some kinda grass growing. This will be a work in progess.

I had my Propel Tunnel mini drone out for a bit. The first flight landed in the bushes outside the fence. I had to climb my old fat xxx over the fence to get it.

No bars in my town.   There's far too many rich-important-full-of-themselves-righteous people to ever allow serving alcohol in town.    If we did have a bar, I'm not sure it could possibly displace the dump as the best thing in town unless it was a really interesting bar.

Snow removal today, we had about 8-10 inches so far.   I shoveled some at 0130 and again at 0430.   At 0930 I was about to shovel some more but I realized I was kidding myself.   There was no way I could finish shoveling 8-10 inches by hand without injuring myself.   I reluctantly fired up the snow blower and completed the task like a normal person.   Not only did I use a snowblower instead of a shovel but I wore a jacket!  And shoes!  And most amazingly  SOCKS!     The old Ernie would have done the whole thing with a shovel wearing flip-flops, T shirt and shorts.  I miss that guy, I wonder what happened to him.

Ch**ch so far. Now it is 48°F and the wind is NW at 9-13mph and increasing. So I plan on staying inside, since I don't need to go out until time for the evening service.

No bars in our county. You can get a beer with your meal in a couple restaurants but you can't just order alcohol without the meal. Heck, they just approved Sunday sales of beer after noon on Sundays Jan. 2023.

Not much, just waiting for snow to subside. It’s not forecast to stop until early tomorrow, and the accumulations supposedly could be 13”.

We called a neighbor who likes to make a bit of cash to help pay off his tractor, and he’s going to come by tomorrow. Meanwhile, I’m going to shovel at least a path between house and garage, plus a third to half of the total area to clear. Some of it can’t be done by machine anyway. My husband walked down to the lower gate and shoveled around that so another neighbor could get his tractor to the public road that the tax-funded road and bridge dept never plows.

That, laundry, and cooking dinner will consume the afternoon and early evening.

Bill a grab tool wouldn't reach it? Shovel, nothing?

Shot a coon last night while looking for the skunk that got away. This morning on the mower I wanted to drag the critter on the ground out of the yard with the grab tool but no joy so I dropped it on the deck then dumped it but because of that I had blood to clean off the deck and tool so I took the spigot cover off and hooked up a hose then washed everything clean. Got the blower and dried the mower off then drained the hose and put it back up with the spigot cover. Blew off all the leaves from the shop driveway and patio since I had the blower out. Got the pool pole with it's brush and extended it to reach the leaf piles on the shop roof and it's window unit AC to clean them both. Bought a needed outside doormat and the neighborhood cat took right up with it laying on it for hours before leaving to some other home around here. Saved some pictures on backup drives to not ever lose them. Did some kitchen cleaning and fixing to cook supper.

Like Ernie, spent part of the day shoveling and blowing snow.  Seemed to keep on coming down.  Did the whole driveway then the walk and looked at the driveway and it needed more snowblowing.  We got about 12" of snow.

Tomorrow have to shovel off the porch roof...  Not looking forward to that.

Went out for the last round of snow removal (for today).   Wife measured 15 inches total on the patio.   Snow blower did most of the work but Im wiped out.   I’ll finish the detailed cleanup tomorrow.

Nope, just out of reach of anything I had. I have an old ladder that was used to climb in and out of an above ground pool that I can put over the fence but it was at the other end of the property and I was too lazy to go get it.
