I had to replace the battery in our van.  It died immediately after we arrived in my sister in law’s driveway in Fort Lauderdale.  Im grateful that it didn't die during the previous weeks 1900 mile drive.  It would have been a real hassle to replace if we’d been in a rest area in south carolina at night.   I haven’t had to buy an auto battery for a few years and was surprised that the replacement was so expensive.

And some don't have the warranty like they use to also.🤬🤬🤬🤬

Kris I sure with my tractor had the goodies yours does. I have to tie chains around the shrubs to pull them up with the loader. Way easier with your setup.

Having run heavy equipment for 40 years has paid off when it came to buying the tractor, this model was the best one that Kubota or anyone else had to offer. I needed a tractor to clean up the mess and was easy to maintain and repair if needed and didn't break the bank in the process. Another plus for it was the after market goodies that were available for it as well. Not to be stengy, I don't loan stuff out anymore due to the amount of destruction that comes with it. I go with it when it comes to doing something for someone.

Same here now. I know what it's like to get chain saws back dirty and tractors back with concrete setting up on the loader that they couldn't be bothered to wash off before returning it where I had to blow an hour scraping it off so no more of that ridiculous knot head nonsense for me. He's borrowing other peoples chainsaws and tractors now not mine anymore. Life is mighty peaceful without idjits like that in it so splitting trail with them is worth it. If people refuse to respect you then keep them out of your life and let them find other idiots that will put up with their bs.

Mother-in-law just left game day and Daughter-in-law is on her way from her parents with my grandson,  Memsahib made a spread/buffet of Chinese food and snacks to graze through the evening.  Life is good...

I fussed with recalcitrant equipment for half of the day.  Ended up doing most of the job by hand.  Now I hurt.

I had a few minutes of respite this morning.  It was overcast all day.  I opened up Cherokee Sink just after sunrise and spotted a big clump of Oyster fungus right beside the trail.

I went up to the hospital for blood tests.  Got the results back and they appeared to be all over the charts? The Dr. said he wasn't too concerned but he did refer me to a kidney specialist.  I wonder what he wasn't to concerned about?

Sounds like he wasn't too concerned about where he was going to get the money to pay for that retirement property on the island in the tropics.

So, what did I do today....   ummm, I ate... everything else was airgun related so far.

Putting off changing my oil. I want to shoot the airgun(s) but high is predicted at only 39 deg with a light wind.

Yeah, change oil and go for a walk, and then the temps will be dropping back into the low 30s. OK.

I helped mom and the memsahib clean up the pontoon boat for tomorrow's big excursion.  I fueled up the boat and we decided to take a cruise to test the motor.  Gotta make sure it's working right?  We cruised about five miles up river enjoying a perfect warm winter day.  The high water over the last two weeks has brought a lot of debris down river.  We recovered a really expensive towable float and another big blue plastic 55 gal drum.  I spread the float out on the Gazebo so anyone going by on the river can see it.  The drum is legitimate river swag.  It will be incorporated into our garden.

I changed the oil, did a couple of small tasks I had been putting off, and am antsy to do some target practice tomorrow.

After the normal morning wake up and routine I slipped out and fired up both heaters in the Red Shed. Then I came back in and showered while Betty Lou made breakfast (she showered while I was outside).
We ate breakfast together and I'm fixin to head back outside.

There are a couple squirrels cooking on the outside burner.  [My Judy doesn't like the smell of cooking squirrels in the house.  Yeah, I know - can you imagine that!]
However, the plan for lunch is to go downtown to our favorite little family restaurant.  As usual, the squirrels will be shared with my son - probably eaten tomorrow.
Snow clouds overhead right now.  But the temperature is 40ºF - so it will likely just rain.  My younger sister lives in Georgia and will probably get some snow today and tonight.

Spent some part of the morning dealing with a headache, got a flare going on somewhere, anyway, mostly indoor projects. Not a big fan of cutting metal in windy conditions, all it takes is one hot bb and it's off to the races. I have a new flat lap for cabbing and faceting stones so I will find a place in the shop and set that up. I have some stuff in the tumblers it will be a few days before I check on them.

Dropped off a son at the airport, stopped for coffee on the way home, took a nap, put clothes away, packed gear and food for work, loaded car, waiting for time to head out for pool at Pops place then off to work.
