I spent an hour and a half sitting in a traffic jam outside Savananna.  Holiday shoppers/travelers and an accident slowed me down a while.  It wasn’t as much fun as it sounds

I finished the holiday shopping sort of.  Funny how you never feel like you got something for everyone.  Gave it a darn good try though!

Rebuilt and reinforced my old welding table and used the tractor to move it around. Now I can get the welding jobs done and not have a back ache doing them. Cleaned up the yard a little bit without turning it into a mud hole.

I had a report that the 2000 F O R D pickup truck developed a coolant leak, this one looks like fun at work for next year, as we still have a 95 Chevy that has been reliable, Im in no hurry to fix it. Actually told them years ago to trade it off, now it is down again LOL, same thing with the Orchard sprayer that no longer had parts support, no wait till it breaks mid season, then scramble to get another one, when supplies were low LOLSMH Rant over

No problem.. soon we'll all be driving EV vehicles and we won't have any issues..   

The owner of the farm has threatened to buy a Tesla truck :O

Actually he is a she, always has been, lol, She was shot at las summer while driving her Tesla, there is a bullet impact in the rear trim of the drivers side passenger window.

‘Tis the season to use a hot oven and savor the heat.

I mixed the dough for tomorrow night’s pizza. It’s had its first kneading and is now sitting at room temp for a few hours before I briefly knead it again and put in the fridge overnight.

But I did do something airgunnish today. I just counted and inspected a tin of pellets. 503 in this batch. Dontcha love getting a few extras! One tin contained 325 pellets instead of 300.

Kris right on! I wanted one recliner out of the house and into the shop so I got the tractor on the back patio and tied the chair to the loader with the chain then drove it into the shop. Tractors make life so much easier.

A lot more cleaning house getting rid of drywall dust on furniture and walls. Cleaned the washer and dryer inside and out. Wore out and time for a beer.

Had an Army brother choot me a text this morning about getting dinner tonight. I haven't seen him in a couple months so I said yes been too long. I had to stop and get gas before navigating the highway to to Toledo. There was a couple at the pump beside me with a wheel off and a tire plug kit struggling to get the job done. Me being me I know just how hard it can be to plug a tire without the lube found in most shops. The guy was doing everything right but not putting enough 4th point of contact into it. It took all of my 170 pounds to shove 2 plugs into their tire. Parted ways hope they make it to where they are going safe.

The backhoe on mine has become a boom lift, a sawhorse to mill lumber with a chainsaw, plant plucker(it has a thumb on it), stabilizers on the backhoe help change tires, and trash compactor for the big garbage cans. The front end loader hauls the garbage cans to the road, instant work platform, carry heavy packages or shop equipment.  Mine has saved my back many a times around here.

That's what I miss about having the tractor I had. It sure saved my back but alas, I had to leave it behind in commiefornia.😞 At around 10,000 lbs it was just to heavy to move the 400 some odd miles to my new home. It was a money pit also. Needed a bunch of new hydraulic hoses, cylinders rebuilt, and tires all around. I guess it's what I'd expect for something built in the early 70s.

I have tractor envy

The nice thing is that my neighbor has given me free rein over using his tractor.  I feel weird just going over and grabbing it so I still ask permission every time I use it.  I use it maybe twice a year.  I keep it fueled and clean as a thank you.  It has a manual transmission on it.  I hope he offers it to me if he ever decides to sell it.  Mr. Lucas is 86 years old.

Brett I was formerly friends with a neighbor who would come borrow the tractor. Always asked at first then started taking it without asking and doing other things on my place without permission also despite repeatedly confronting him about it telling him to ask first so the next time he pulled that I ended the friendship and told him stay where he belongs at his own place. A lot easier to do as you Brett and ask first and I bet he never had to ask you once let alone twice or more because you treat people as you want to be treated like we're supposed to. When property envy kicks in some folks loose respect for you having what they don't. America is still the land of the free for the time being and I don't have to tolerate disrespect on my own property so I won't is what he found out the hard way not just for him but his wife and kids who enjoyed my place as well.

Kris I sure with my tractor had the goodies yours does. I have to tie chains around the shrubs to pull them up with the loader. Way easier with your setup.

There are so many people around us who have tractors of varied sizes that for us to buy one just for ourselves would be redundant on top of redundant. We don’t want to store it, operate it, or have big equipment sit idle 99.9% of the time.

Several tractor owners are happy to have us pay them to do the occasional job that needs one. We always pay them even if they offer to do it for free. And they have the experience to do the job well. This works out well all around, and nobody feels taken advantage of.

I had to replace the battery in our van.  It died immediately after we arrived in my sister in law’s driveway in Fort Lauderdale.  Im grateful that it didn't die during the previous weeks 1900 mile drive.  It would have been a real hassle to replace if we’d been in a rest area in south carolina at night.   I haven’t had to buy an auto battery for a few years and was surprised that the replacement was so expensive.
