Yep if a bobcat really wanted to kill a large dog like they can deer then they could but most times they want to put the odds in their favor by killing easier prey such as fawn, rats ect. I had a mountain lion walk in my front yard once and I'm glad my 200lb mastiff was inside the house instead of outside right then but he never had bobcat or coyote trouble in all the years he was there thankfully. I know a person in town who saw a mountain lion grab a neighbor's chihuahua and jump the fence with it before they could do anything to stop it and that really upset them seeing it. Said it must have been stalking the dog for days learning the person's habits to know when it would be safe for it to attack because as soon as it was let outside and the door was shut the lion jumped the fence and grabbed it then jumped back over the fence into the woods.
Some of the other boat captains are calling him "little Joey" because he's only about 11' long.
We got plenty of bobcats here and I've never heard of one bothering a dog. I have friends who have lost pets to coyote though.I drove boats today. The river is higher than I've ever seen it and black as ink. It's cold, wet, and overcast. Even the birds are walking. Plenty of manatee around but the water is too dark to see them. Makes it challenging. Amazingly Francis (my favorite momma gator) was out in a good spot and she waived her stump at us so everyone got to see it. She lost both forelegs in a gator fight years ago. She is one mean gator. The new dominant male gator has started hanging around vulture island hoping for a snack. We haven't decided on a name for him yet. I'm calling him "Rocky". Some of the other boat captains are calling him "little Joey" because he's only about 11' long. High water, fast currents and lots of gusty winds. It was not a good day. Harry rammed a piling in the Heron and I dang near rammed a tree with the Manatee.
Helped to load, haul, unload 5 trucks full of firewood for people who heat with wood but can't afford to buy it and their cancer meds.
My life has been so much easier than most of these people. Heating with wood in a trailer is risky but all they have.

There's a guy along with his son and wife living in the next canyon west of me doing that. The wife works supporting the family but all the guy does is drink. I don't know why she stays with him. He can't keep a job because he either shows up drunk or with a hangover and gets fired.
I tried being a "Grown Up". . . . . Once. It made me highly irregular and I ain't done it since.
