Last night we had a bit of a holiday party with just us.  We enjoyed steak at home than afterwards we had cheese, crackers and dips.  Mrs. P also made fudge and we heated up some apple cider.  We have a few Christmas movies that we watch and also some Christmas audio stories that we listen to throughout the season.  Last night we set up the TV 📺 and watched my favorite, the classic Dickens “A Christmas Carol”.  I don’t know why exactly but that movie warms my heart and gets better every year for me.

Drove the tractor in the garage and loaded up the old non working washer and dryer into the bucket and dumped them in the scrap pile in the woods. Placed a table there in the garage for added work space. Smelled some mold growing on my bedroom furniture, cabinets and books on them so loaded the books in a box then sealed it and put it in storage to deal with later then cleaned the room. Smells much better now. I have a uv light in my hvac that was supposed to stop mold growth in the home but it didn't. I have old shag carpets so maybe that's the cause.

Accidentally burned a pot of chicken dumplings when I got distracted with a surprise visitor outside and ruined the food with smoke all in the house to air out with the doors and windows open with the fans going. Should've took the pot off the burner and turned the burner off before going outside. Put coffee out on the counter after I sprayed everything nearby with hunter's scent killer to absorb the smoke smell. Took a lot of scrubbing with the brillow pad but got the pot cleaned so I didn't ruin it like I thought I first did.

Among other things, I broke out the electric rotary drill (the Sears version of “a Dremel tool”) and the Exacto knife to make an online-ordered iPad case truly accommodate the 10th gen model I bought this fall. Something it was supposed to do, off the shelf, but did not.   

Drilling the holes in the hard plastic frame bottom did the job. It also melted the plastic enough so that the drill bit was topped by a black pine tree kind of cap. STUCK to the drill bit. A pair of needlenose pliers failed to remove the melted-on hat/tree, so I resorted to using brute force, a.k.a. channel-lock pliers. That only broke off the treetop, though after that the needlenose pliers and my fingers removed the rest. Now the drill bit itself looks like it suffered some abuse from the channel-lock pliers. Hope I can find replacements. And melted plastic stinks.

After that, I eyed the Exacto job with wary eyes. But all went well there. The shock guard’s silicone was easy to slice.

Beware online ads that claim something fits several different models!

Thank you Charles!  I feel it’s quality time.  I really love my people.  I really like them too.  They are who I want to be with all the time, they are my friends.

I did shoot an air rifle but on the list of non AG related activities I took the dog out back and started to work with her off leash.  She is fast and a powerful runner.  I took a pet bed back to Costco Krause it was clear as soon as I brought it home last night that Bella was going to tear it apart.  That was $50 that I didn’t want to throw away after a day.  While I was there I threw in some oats, nut butter and two twin mattresses.  I had just enough time to get my things together for work and head over to pops place for some pool.  After that was work and that’s where I am currently until 2300.  I’m looking forward to going home and getting cozy in the covers with Mrs. P.

My grandson [the 14 year old] is a bicycle rider.  We have done bicycle thing together.  But mostly, he rides around the neighborhood with his friends.  I am very thankful that he rides his bicycle as much as he does.
Along those lines, his tires are much worn.  And his bicycle bearings are worn too.  Some just need repacking with grease.  So I am in the process of rebuilding his bicycle.  This morning, I will be going to the bicycle shop to get or order a bearing set for the steering tube area below the handlebar. 
I don't anticipate doing anything airgun related because we are enjoying a rainy day.  And I do sincerely mean enjoying - we are very dry in Middle Tennessee.

Made a quick store run and Betty Lou is making breakfast. We passed the community park and ball fields and noticed they were setting up for the Crenshaw Cool Ridz car club show. Looks like they were just setting up so, weather permitting, we might go back and check it out.

My ankle was too messed up yesterday for me to handle the lines on the boat so I sat the day out in the office.  I felt better today but the other guys took pity on me and I only took out two boats.  I got home around three and discovered that Belle had found another way to escape from the fenced yard.  Hopefully I've fixed that.  Tomorrow we will find out if she can escape again.

Some want to spend no time with family and work overtime or whatever excuse they can find to not have to spend any time with them at all. Can't choose who you're related to but you can choose who to avoid. More families like that now than ever.

Though we did it Saturday, not today, Sonja and I went up to our property and met our builder to discuss a few things.  After that, she ran the Billy Goat brush-mower while I ran polesaw and line-trimmer.  We wanted to remove a deer-stand somebody hid on the property sometime in the last 2 months.  Nice one, too.  I'll sell it on Craigslist   While clearing a dense thicket of blackberry and such, we uncovered the original access road to get to a clearing perched on the edge of our second lot.  Sonja's sister and her husband were wanting to build there but there was no access with crossing another property; that's no longer an issue.

Nothing too crazy or exciting; there's one more deerstand to take down but this one's been around long enough the chain is embedded into the tree.  We've had people make very false claims they received permission to hunt the property "from the former owner a couple years ago".  Um, no.  My in-laws bought the properties in the mid 90s before passing them on to us- and oddly, most of the No Hunting signs and purple tape/flags are gone.
