I did do something airgun related today but, I also mowed the backyard, mulching all of the leaves in the process. I should have also mowed the front yard while the weather permitted. Maybe tomorrow?

The 4 new chains for the 16" chainsaw arrived so I put one on the saw and logged up the remaining 2 trees I had dragged out of the woods. I had been stacking them between a tree and a "T" post. I guess I exceeded the capacity of the post and it bent and let all the logs roll off to the ground. I moved them to a new location between 2 trees. Then I covered them with a tarp. Supposed to get heavy rains over the next couple days and I want them to dry for splitting.
The new chain cut like a hot knife through butter.

I just sharpened the chains on both of my saws. I've got one of those Stihl manual sharpeners. It sets the raker teeth height while sharpening the teeth.

The chain I replaced had been sharpened to it's limit. These 4 should last me a long time with sharpening. They came in a 4 pack.

Thank you very much Bill for the sentry barrel. I'm going to redo the crown and polish it up. It's a lot straighter than the one that came originally.

Taking some more vacation next week so I spent today taking care of the preparations at work.  I mixed about 10 gallons of various cleaning chemicals.  We buy them concentrated and I seem to be the only one who understands the mixing ratios.  Then I designated some herbicides as due for disposal and inventoried the stuff that was left.  I'll finish up some loose ends and fill out my time sheet for the rest of the month tomorrow.

I worked.  Day-Job ain't bad but I started going cross-eyed by 5 PM when it was time to "punch out".  Some of these utilities I work with (all created in-house) take a long time to run.  They are still running and I started them 4+ hours ago. 

We ran out to gas up the Tahoe so Sonja doesn't have to do it tomorrow at 5 AM; probably be showering and heading to bed soon.

Just finished vacuuming out the tundra and cleaning the windows for our trip to lake Havasu in the morning. I put about 9 moving blankets and around 6-7 tie down straps along with a bunch of rope.

The tire shop was able to fix the flat but couldn't Guarantee it wouldn't leak later. They pulled a 5 inch deck screw out of it and where it entered the inside of the tire was right in the curve. I don't usually drive very far in it so I'm not really worried. I do need to get new tires for it but I'm going to wait until January.

Food shopping and start food prepping for Thanksgiving day.   It's a big event for us.  Lotta people, lotta food, lotta work.   At least I'll be continuously sampling as we prep and cook, strictly for quality control purposes.

Raked leaves, mowed more grass, got stuff ready to start the work week.  Thanksgiving shopping is already done except for those few last minute fresh items.  Gonna go do dishes here soon.

More preparation for my vacation.  I mixed another five gallons of chemicals at work (bottom paint).  They will not run out while I'm gone!  Somebody poached a buck deer off 61 or 267.  I ain't sure which.  He wandered into the park with a bullet wound in his guts about a week ago.  He expired in a thicket about fifty yards  from the ranger station.  He made his presence known a day or so ago.  I located his carcass today with the assistance of a large number of black vultures.  Following the dictum of "he who finds it cleans it up" (well known to pet owners)  I got in the big John Deere and used the the grapple to relocate the remains to somewhere the vultures could enjoy their repast in piece.  Later in the day I was treated to the sight of two does colliding and knocking each other down in their haste to escape when I passed them driving a Kawasaki Mule.  I spotted several deer on the verge of the road on the way home tonight.  It's that season
