Yard work and also spent too much time in the garage attic.   It's full of stuff, some of it is cool stuff.   Most of it has to go no matter how cool the stuff is.

It all goes sooner or later. If you don't get rid of it now there's usually an estate sale after you're gone.

Yup, the estate sale would be the easy way out for me.   Not so easy on whoever has to make it happen.   Was up there again today and I spend so much time marveling, fondling and reminiscing  over cool stuff from my past that I don't get much done.  My wife is slightly less impressed by the coolness of my old stuff.  I imagine that some people would classify it as junk.

I have lived within 8 miles of where I am now since 1980, I have lived where I am now since 1997. I have a few things from the sixties, my tools and tools starting from the late sixties. Then there's the stuff we have inherited from my mom and dad, my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and a whole estate from a friend of my dad and mom's. My wife's stuff, she has a full room + of sewing and crafts materials, 3^? sewing machines.

Bike's, motorcycles, parts, cars and parts, lots of hardware too. 1 out of service 35' semi trailer, 6 sheds, 4 carports, 3 housefuls (1-4 bedroom, 1-3 bedroom,1-2 bedroom), easily close to 6,000 books, 5 motorcycles, a Tote Gote, 2 cars, 2 pickups, 1 30' camping trailer.

  The prep for moving someday is overwhelming.

  My wife and I, mostly her, have given away of a bunch of stuff the last 3 years and it hasn't put much of a dent in it.

I'm hoping we've moved for the last time 3 1/2 years ago. Moved from the high desert in commiefornia to N Arizona. Came out with 4 MC, my ranger and the wife's jeep. I gave away so many MC parts and furniture so we could fit everything in a 26 foot box van.

I sat in a stuffy room for eight hours with ten very boring people yesterday.  I am doing the same thing today and I will be doing the same thing for three more days after.  At the end of this week I will receive an utterly worthless certification.

Fortunately I’ve got an old buddy that lives just down the road.  I’ll be escaping to his shack as soon as the whistle blows.  He’s another veteran of the cola wars.

Working on unclogging a toilet.  Got to be one of the most wretched jobs.  Plungers don't seal to this bowl at all.  Water or air just escape from fore and aft.  The bowl is shaped in a way that simply seems to prevent sealing.  I've tried about 4 different ones.  None of them seal worth a plugged nickle.

Used a 15 foot snake and this sucker is still plugged.   :'(  Dumped hot water and detergent down there too.  Nope.  Just very slowly goes down.  Of course it's in my bathroom, so yeah, I'd like to get it fixed.  May have to go buy a manual 25 foot snake, so I can have 10 more feet of fun.  Also could pull the toilet and see if I can get a little further.

This bathroom was put in by "the plumber from h3ll" about 25 years ago.  I've had to redo a lot of his work.  Guy didn't know how to solder pipe.  I had to remove and replace about 8 feet of his work, because it was leaking all the time.  Inadequate soldering - the backside of the pipe, easily inspected with a mirror had no solder.  Of course it didn't start leaking for about a year...  Sure hope I don't have to do this drain stuff over.

Yeah, we've had our share of plugged drains here. Most of it was due to stupid people from before us dumping things in the drain that shouldn't have been. Yeah, who don't know that you don't dump left over paint and wash your brushes out in the sink? I literally pulled hunks of dried paint out with a snake. Who don't know that grease don't go down the drain? Who don't know that female gadgets get tossed in the trash?
Besides, this is a septic tank, not city services.

I went out at daylight and got busy. Raking leaves and dumping them in the burn pit. Betty Lou joined me after she had her coffee and got some laundry going.
This property that we are cleaning up has been under the trees most likely since the beginning of time. The forest floor in some areas ais literally 10" of compost leaves and sticks. I don't dare try to burn it off because I don't know how deep it goes. I've stepped in places and broke through the crust of it where critters have tunnels and dens. I think if I can get grass to take hold it with grow like crazy in this compost.
I also moved the 4' x 4' target stand/pellet trap back to the fence. It was at a lasered 27 yds. and now it is 35.
We got a ton of work done before noon. This is a project that will continue for quite some time.

I was really feeling my age today hanging around all those 30 something kids at the training.  I’ve been at Swede’s place for the last three hours and I think I’m just gonna crash here.  It’s only a half mile from the place where I’m training,  the booze is better, and the company is more salubrious.  We’re swapping lies about our misspent youth and drinking single malt Irish whiskey.  There’s no air rifles here but Swede’s got a huge plywood half pipe in his back yard and a couple of old fashioned long boards hanging on the wall. 

A couple more drinks and I’ll be ready.

Skateboarding as a grown up is one of the main reasons my joints hurt and I limp.  It's OK to fall when you're young.   DON'T do it when you're an adult.  I'll never fully recover from bad joint injuries.

liquid courage and juvenile competition between sixty somethings who should know better.  Bad combination.
911 was not needed but I did have to wrap my wrist this a.m. .  I quit after the first good spill and left the skateboarding to Swede and sporty Dave while I stuck to drinking.

A little hungover this a.m. but things are improving.  This class I’m stuck in is deadly dull.  It don’t get better but it do get over!  Tonight I’m headed back to Swede’s place!

Continued trying to catch up to the guys who have a carnival-like shooting gallery in their back yard.   I put a red one gallon metal can at the 50 yard backstop.    It's too easy to hit with a rifle but it will be good for newer shooters.   Off hand with a pistol is a better challenge.    I particularly like the hit sound time delay.   I'm easily amused.

After I posted my last a few hours ago, I broke out one of my old skateboards- a Powell-Peralta Vato Rat.  Took some turns, popped a few ollies, then looked at my Ram, looked at the board, and looked at the Ram again.  Five minutes later I was pulling the seat on the Ram.  One and one half Dos Equis later (beer is not just a drink, it is a measuring interval for time~!), my Ram had a new seat cushion and fabric.  I ordered the lower driver's seat cushion and seat fabric months ago.  I finished the remainder Dos Equis Amber Especial, out up my short board, stared longingly at the long board, then grabbed keys to both riding mowers and moved them so I could load up the Ram for a dump run tomorrow.  It's dark out, I'm nursing another Dos Equis and pondering skateboarders a decade older than my spry 54.  Judi Oyama- 64 and headed to Rome Italy to compete in the World's Slalom... Neil Hackett is another- I think 67?  Neil Unger (another Neil) is a street skater no less. 

These are a few of the many older skaters out there.  Sure, falls hurt.  But once you realize you will fall- it's all in how you land- and never pushing yourself too far or hard.  A good night's sleep, DMSO (horse liniment), and trying to stay healthy and flexible do wonders

Anyway, back to my beer.
