Just got home from going into town to get the mail.😡😡 It's Columbus Day so no mail. That was 25 wasted miles.

Fall yard work has begun.   I spent too much time moving compost piles around with a pitchfork.  That pitchforking around is a pretty good workout for old guys.   I'll be raking and grinding leaves in a few days and starting the next pile of compost.  I did allocate some time for 10M practice with the IZH46M.

Finished up sealing all of the windows, doors and vents on the curb side of my travel trailer. Had to scrape off the old sealant which was easy on some and a pita on others.

We saw river otter and wild turkey and scared what was either a bear or a hog in a cane brake.  It went crashing off through the thicket and I only caught a glimpse of something black.

Clearly it was a skunk ape.

finishing retaining wall/steps while sick/fatigued slowed me some and whupped on me some but got it done... cut & lay sod  move a yard or two of soil to go...then on to next project...

got 'er done... tomorrow a crawl space access well... already excavated with poured pad with rebar stickin up... just need to lay block and fill...

The Big Vacation is OVER!

Back to work on the late shift.  It's that eerie "Between" season after the summer madness but before the Snow Birds get here.  We do a lot of maintenance during this time of year.  I ran errands for people,  Mixed several gallons of cleaning chemicals, and shut the whole show down and locked it up around dark.  Tomorrow I'm a boat captain.  Should be interesting.  I haven't been out on the river in at least a month.

Drove up to Williams to pickup my wife's prescription from Safeway and did some shopping for the stuff she wanted. Picked up a few things for me also. There went another $250! We should be good until the end of the month.🙏

Well we waited on the Costco run I mentioned in the Good morning thread Monday until today, and only spent $565 and $202 of that was a annual executive reward credit. So not too bad this time.


I also "fixed" our front outside light. (at my wife's request, it just need a new bulb)    Yes, I fixed it honey!

Thanks Dan.   My son bought that golf cart at a really good price for deer hunting. He put new batteries in it, and completely reworked the electronics and brakes.  It has new tires and a lift kit when he bought it.

Then he found another one he like better so I paid him what he had spent on it. It had a flip rear seat on it then but it was rusted from previous owner hauling fertilizer. And the rear seat was torn and rotten.

My son lives next door in my father's house. My house sits on 20 acres and he has 10 acres that joins me. Woods behind us both. The cart is great for riding the trails quietly.

My 13 year old granddaughter Ellie was at the trampoline park in Idaho yesterday and fell and broke her arm.

Packed the fishing gear to go again in the morning. Did some laundry, work on some game cameras, and just messed around the house most of the day.

Dan now you have a place to toss the dead hogs on the cart and since it's electric you can sneak up on them quiet unlike engine carts!

Put the pool cover on and what a total PITA that was but at least I won't have to clean the pool every day of the winter now like last time. Cleaning skimmers in 10 degree weather with the net freezing before I make it to the woods to dump the leaves out and having to mulch new fallen leaves daily on the mower so they don't get blown into the pool gets old quick. I'm leaving the pool running though so I don't have messy water to clean up next spring where all I gotta do is remove the cover and the pool will be clean. This winter will be much less work for me than last and I'm highly looking forward to having more free time to enjoy.

Worthless coon tore up my yard right by the back patio so I set the trap and am highly looking forward to shooting that sucker in the face tonight repeatedly for my trouble.

Yes, those bouncy things are a blast until they aren't. I landed on my head one time when I was 16 years old and it was a nice soft landing until the rebound kicked in, then my neck gave way to the force and it hurt a lot! My PE classmates would pull springs and we could almost touch the gym ceiling missing that landing on the hardwood floor wouldn't have been any fun either, nobody ever did though, we always caught each other LOL.

That is one thing I never cared for in PE, I would do the basics and leave it at that. I did more damage riding dirt bikes, motorcycles, and dozers than jumping up and down on things.

My condolences.  Given that trampolines are a major cause of adolescent emergency room visits one wonders what genius thought up the idea of a trampoline park.

Or what insurance company would insure one.

When I arrived at work this a.m. everyone in the park from the top management down was running around like chickens with their heads cut off.  At 6:30 this a.m. the division chief informed our park manager that none other than the Governor himself would grace our humble park with his presence tomorrow.

Fat chance says I.  What's REALLY going to happen tomorrow is that Casey is gonna show up with the kids and a couple of troopers to tote the diaper bag like she does every couple of months.  We'll take her and the kids for a private boat ride just like we do every couple of months.  We always hear that Ron is gonna be with her but he never shows. 

So I drove four boat tours today.  The hydraulic steering pump on the big scow died as Phil was making the turn into the marine railway slip and we had to haul her onto the trolley by hand.  It was a bear with the cross current.

Tomorrow I'm on the late shift and I'll be sure to stay away from the waterfront.  De po buckra knows better than to have any truck with rich folks biznizz!

Took a load of trash to the transfer station in Seligman. Then I went the other direction into town aka Ash fork and picked up the mail then filled up a 5 gallon can of gas. When I got home I broke out the sander and sanded the steps to the front porch so I can repaint them. Tomorrow, I'll paint them and sand and paint the airgun shed's steps.

Well, Paul our male English lab just ended up in the wife's S list. The wife loves to grow and care for her flowers. Well, we've been potting the flowers that can't survive the low 30s. Paul decided one of her favorite flowers looked to tempting and decided to use it as a chew toy.😲 We found the plant and I put it back in the pot with some dirt and poured some water on it to get the dirt around the roots. We'll see if it survives🙏. I hope so for Paul's sake.😁
