That's rough cj! Praying for a full recovery. I really pay attention on stairs. From previous knee injuries I find it safer to slowly walk backward down stairs. I know Mike Holmes the home repair guy on tv watched his dad fall down stairs and die in front of him when he was a kid so that's likely why he wanted to get into the home repair business to build things right preventing anyone else from losing a loved one from poor improper home building. If that's why she fell I hope she gets the stairs fixed after healing up.

Took the KLF 300 into the pine plantation to help some neighbours get some firewood. Pulling logs to the road. All downhill dragging so not too hard .
Good to have new tyres on it,couldnt keep of it all day.

Awake around 0700.  Outta bed around 0820.  Coffee and quiet time until 1000.  Headed out to Lowes and HD.  Picked up some items for the metal carport to continue with that project.  Bought an upright freezer and brought that home.  By then it was time to head into work for my last shift of the week.  Looking forward to the next three days off.  Just 7 hours to go! 🕚🕚🕚

Thanks, Sqrl Klr. She’s making steady progress. She fell because the cover over the top caved when she stepped on it. Didn’t hit the steps, just straight down. She’s tough and we expect her to pull through but likely a long haul to 100%.

That happened to my mother decades ago with a painted 2" thick porch step we didn't know was rotten. Didn't go to the hospital but sure hurt mighty bad.

The Alligator nest I've been watching for the last two months popped last night.  I checked it yesterday about 3:00 p.m. and it was quiet.  This morning around 10:00  I noticed the mound was open and there was eggshell debris scattered across the apron.  By 2:00 p.m. there was a clutch of 2 dozen or so 5" long baby gators sunning there (beaucoup cocodrilo!).  Mama was watching me all the time and she hissed and grumbled if I brought the boat too close.  We were safe enough on the 36' scow but she would seriously mess with someone on a kayak or paddleboard.

Watched VA Tech beat the spread and take a knee on the 5 yard line to run out the clock instead of Alabama/UGA running up the score for AP ranking.  Very proud of our sportsmanship.
Earlier I watched Coach Prime and his QB son Buffalo the Horned Frogs.

Finally got around to putting the 2" trailer hitch ball on the Rancher atv after owning it for 3 years. I put one on the Kodiak shortly after we bought that one. I have 4 or 5 of them around here but every one I stumbled across was 3/4" and the atv takes 5/8". I knew I had one somewhere and I found it the first place I looked today. It was in the tool box on the GMC truck. I cranked it on with an 18" wrench so it ain't coming off.

 We use to have a church member that walked everywhere she went and always was looking for change she kept track of what she found, over a hundred dollars one year.


I have come across the knives I put up in a safe place before vacation yet, but I did quit looking for them. I hope to just come across them someday.

Memsahib made me work on invasive weeds and vines in the backyard this morning and then we had date brunch at IHOP.  Sure is cheaper and faster to get a table as two empty-nesters...lol

Rough day for me, started out with a massive flare and headache, so I canceled the platelet donation, there was no way I could sit there for 2 hours in that much pain. Managed to pick up my stuff at wally world and TSC, picked up my mail, crashed when I got home. Rested for a while and piddled in the yard, ground up my dried peppers, paid bills, worked on fishing lures, and fixed the winch strap on the boat trailer. Probably get up early in the morning and go fish for a little while, it just depends on the weather.

I installed a new stereo with back up camera and wireless car play connect in the 2004 Toyota Sienna.  It was tedious but we got it done.  It's such a nice upgrade to have.

I survived yet another labor day weekend as a park ranger.

I hoped today would be better than yesterday.  Nope.

I got a radio call about 3:00 p.m. that a man was exposing himself to ladies at the beach shower station.  When I got eyes on the guy I recognized him as someone who had been problematic before.  I called LE for back up, sent a ranger to collect statements from the witnesses, and detailed two other rangers to watch the guy.  When the LEO got there we had all our ducks in a row and were ready to move.  Two LEO and I confronted  the perv and he immediately accused everyone involved of lying and trying to frame him including myself and the LEO.  This cut no ice with the law.  We had written statements from the witnesses but no one wanted to press charges so all they could do was cite him for public indecency and trespassing but that is enough to get him banned from the park for a year.

Personally I think the guy deserves what we used to call a "blanket party" when I was in the army.

We've had 2 Siennas starting in 2006. As big a fan as I am with Toyota, I've always been disappointed with the Sienna line build quality. We had a number of issues with both vehicles and sadly, they were similar issues even though the vehicles were 9 years apart. But, we needed a minivan and we needed awd, so that's what we stayed with even the second time around.
Since, the kids all 3 kids are driving now, we gave our current Sienna to my son and Susan got a Forester. No more Siennas, or minivan, for us!
