Well, we just found out who the arsenest is. 18 year old kid who had became part of the Ash Fork volunteer fire department.😲 He confessed to 7 fires including burning down the mobile station where he use to work but was laid off from. The owner was closing it down and was going to convert it into a Laundromat which the town really needed. I sold him 1 of my dirt bikes.

Life must be pretty good there to go through that much work to get water.  How often do you refill?

For me it's only once or at the most twice a month. It's not that bad. This is the first time I've gotten water for a neighbor and probably the last time. It was just way too much work and took up more than half of 2 of the days. We like it here because we don't have to deal with people. 1 of the reasons we moved up to Lucerne valley was to get away from people and over the 16 years we lived there we probably had at least 20 new homes get built around us so we moved again. We have state land to the east of us and 20 Acers of my land west of us. Our neighbors to the north are at least a 1/4 mile away and the the home to the south we've never seen anybody there in the 3 years we've lived here. There's only 3 couples that live here full time in the whole valley.

I drove 938 miles in 13 hours including stops. I enjoyed the week in Idaho with the grandkids and great grandkids,  but not the traffic. At least the speed limit is 80 mph for a good bit of it, in the remote areas. The last 3 hours were brutal though. I got 24.5mpg with the Dodge 3500 this trip.

Yesterday we had a bad wind, gusty and rolling. it took out one of our trees and dropped it across the fence and onto the berm. A tree say 45 ft by 2 ft. people round here  including us are very particular about berms being well mowed and just so.
at about 9.30 am I got out there with a hand saw and started trimming the light stuff. My arm is still banged up and I can not do anything heavy and certainly not use a chain saw. There I was cutting with a hard point chinese saw with my left hand and my right hand in my pocket.  I was prepared to take my time and plod on. Half an hour later Meredith arrived with her chainsaw in a wheel barrow, then Bill and Helen with their two chainsaws. 
so we got into it. Then walkers came along to gauge progress. Quite a gathering. Jo also has a bung arm so Ester arrived with a chicken casserole because she reckoned Jo should not be cooking dinner. We are all septuagenarians except Meredith and Hellen. A petite blonde and a snazzy red head. Can those two work. I was a bit amazed at how those two got stuck in.
Meredith and I finished up the mulching by 4.30.  That's Manakau Village for you.

Now that's the way neighbors should be! 👍 We've lost that here in the states or at least where I live. The Midwest is probably more like that.

Surprise day off from work yesterday.  I was supposed to go in but Mrs. P fluttered her eyelashes at me and convinced me to take the day off.  A quick text later to my co-workers and I had someone step up to take my shift for me.  So with that in mind we were already planning on heading over to the final race at Peninsula Indoor BMX.  It was a long night (5ish hours) of BMX but we all had a great time.  Lots of crashes at this tight track with no serious injuries.

That BMX racing sure looks like fun but only if you are young and extremely fit.   I'm pretty sure that I could walk at least one lap of that track at a leisurely pace if I knew I'd be able to rehydrate and nap at the end.

Just came in from weed whacking. Didn't do a heck of a lot with the temperature at 88 and the sun mostly beating down. At around 1 mile high there's not a lot of air between me and the 🌞 to defuse the sun's rays.

Hangin' some new LED kitchen light fixtures my wife picked out.    Of course they don't fit this particular installation quite right so I have to modify it a little and got to Home Depot for one more part.   At least it's cooler inside than outside.

Surprisingly there are still guys in their 60s and 70s racing.  There were quite a few last night and there was a money prize just for the old guys.  Their race was the finale.  Top payout last night was $1120 for 1st place and $92 for last place.  That's not all the time just last night as it was the last race at this venue.  I dont know the details but they are losing the lease on the building?  Sad 'cause it's been there since the 80's.

Well the rain finally showed up 🎉🎇🎆 The temp dropped from 98 to 79 in about 10 minutes but the humidity jumped up to 70%.🥵 I don't do humidity very well. I think it was after 2100hrs last night before it got this cool but was a heck of a lot drier.

Wow, they have a class for "Boys" 61 and older.  Those old boys gotta be fit and probably light too.

Cut the back yard grass and mower was billowing puffs of smoke.  Since it was a gift from mother in law might be time to get one of those 40v cordless deals and have an excuse to go to the scrap yard and see if I can trade for some bulk lead...

When I take my mountain bike to the bunny slopes I always hear "on your right" and whirring derailleur going by with someone older (and much lighter) passing me (again).  Good thing I have no ego and enjoy every opportunity to be outside...cheers

Dan that sounds like a fun time congrats!

Brett good choice on the day off. Wives know how to be irresistibly adorable when they want their way. I used to do that when I was a kid in the 80s. Had a track like that very close to home but it was in the woods with no stands for any crowds. Just someone's practice track that let me and a friend of mine have fun on too. Good times.


Speaking of helping neighbors one of mine had a plastic tension pulley bearing fire that melted the pulley almost to the outer edges. Crazy that didn't start a fire to burn the mower up. I had a pulley to give but his bolt was too large to mount it so off to the store he goes Monday to get a new one. At least I tried.

I mowed early this morning to beat the heat. I'm still mowing the entire property just to keep it turning into a weed field. I have not seen the new owner of the bar/mancave acre since that first time he and the sheriff stopping by to tell me he bought it and we needed to get our possessions out of it. It's been about 1 and 1/2 months since then.
We informed everyone we knew that had added things to that bar over the years that if they wanted those items they need to come get them. So far Killer's sister is the only one that came and picked up an old hand made wooden table and benches that had sentimental value.
At the end of this month the window will close for anything else to be removed. Betty Lou and I have washed our hands of it and will not get involved. We don't even have contact info for the new owner.
After the mowing was done we went to Troy, Al and bought a new twin size bed for the spare bedroom. We've had a queen size bed in there and it almost took up the entire room. The twin will make better use of the space. We only use the room if one of us is sick.

Took the small dog to get groomed, spent $300 on groceries and $178 on dog food and Misc at Tractor Supply and $45 on car cleaning and polishing stuff at Walmart, then $91.21 on fueling the Dodge. Prices are ridiculous, I miss the old days three years ago. I am still blest and doing OK but I feel sorry for the multitude that are aren't.


My wife didn't tell me that the mortgage payment in MO had gone up so we got behind on that one when the auto-pay was the wrong amount. I just got off the phone and have it straightened out now (I hope).They had applied the smaller than due payment and the extra past due amount to principle only and still showed missed payments even though I had payed the full amount due on the statement last month. Their way of doing things and their statements are hard to figure out. I asked so what does it take to bring this current, since I know just paying what the bill says won't do it.

Finished up the spare room upgrade and Betty Lou is very happy with it. Next month the plan is to upgrade the utility room. It needs insulated and skinned on the inside because it's just studded walls with wood outer siding. I'll also add a few more outlets.
Meantime we are puling hogwire fence and posts that we put in last year at the barn end of the property. The plan is to clear and fence in some more of the acre that our mobile home is on.
