Dan I have to keep a written list on my phone or I'll forget things too because I just have a lot to take care of and stay too busy especially this time of year. I keep spare parts for the mower that I'll eventually need like belts, blades, air filter, plugs ect. Bought ahead of time so I have them right when I need them if the mower breaks down in the middle of a job so less time wasted getting parts and more time getting the job done. I do that for my car and a lot of other things as well. No frustration and time wasted that way as for me time is money indeed.

I try to keep extra blades (cause we grow rocks) and belts too, I have 2 extra sets of blades on hand, for our L110 mower that is broken down now.    They don't work on the S130. I have a large supply of PVC pipe fittings and a variety of pipe just in case too.

Kim bought what was billed on Amazon as a garden shed. Actually a cleverly disguised torture test. Every piece covered with Saran wrap that got soft and sticky in the heat. I’ve built 4wd RC cars with fewer screws. Turns out many of the nuts and bolts you install you remove later in process when you install to frame. Instructions don’t tell you that, you just figure it out by yourself when you go to mount and there are no holes. Instructions are terrible. No instructions for assembling back wall panels. I’d have been better off trying to read Chinese than following some of their hieroglyphics. Hit 103 here today, so heat index around 115. We spent hours on this thing, work to do still. Had a good time doing it together but we are BEAT!

We've been working on our screened in back deck area. It has basically been a storage /catch all space where the spiders found refuge. When we lost the bar/mancave we packed everything we wanted to keep in there. A couple weeks ago we decided we wanted to turn it into a new hangout.
We sealed in all the screened walls with 2" foam insulation board and hung camo burlap as curtains over them after despidering the room. One wall is actually the back exterior wall of the mobile home we live in. The rest of the room is exposed framing painted a redwood color. There are 2 4x4 center posts with a 4' bar and stools between them.
I ordered a gallon of forest green paint to paint the one wall and door and it is due to arrive tomorrow.
This is just one of many projects we have planned around here.

Had a normal Sunday with Ch**ch! Now we have to pack for a trip to Idaho this week. Not sure when we are leaving tomorrow, but we have the house/dog sitter is lined up. It is going to be maybe 4 or 5 day trip. Yea! 13 hours each way.    Oh well, "estate business" will get done and we will see some grandkids and great grandkids too.

I cleaned up around the shooting range best I could.. there is still standing water from all the rain we've had. Got the weed eater out and cleaned up what I couldn't get to with the lawn tractor. Picked up lots of fallen tree debris and tossed it into the woods beyond the fence. I fear I really stirred up the mosquitoes.
I put everything away and retreated to the house. A hot shower, a/c and ice water was imperative.
The skies are darkening for another round of thunderstorms. That has been the routine for more than the past week and it looks like it will be for at least the next 10 days.

Bill, send some of that rain our way, please! It hotter than the armpit of h3l l here.

Solar repair man just left. I had a burned out wire in the junction box on the roof of the garage which took out 2 of the panels from the charging circuit. Man is it cranking out the power now. It was showing 1100 watts at 0930 which is what it should be. 🎉🎉🎉🎉😁😁. Only cost $200 for the total service call.

Peter I thought about you today when I found a poison ivy vine as thick as my leg going up a tree. It's dangling vines off the pine tree where I won't be able to mow the yard there soon so I got the chain saw to it slowly cutting with the saw pointed away from me where the clippings didn't get on me. Cleaned the saw off with break cleaner afterwards. I'll give the cut vine some vinegar treatment tomorrow. Mowed a couple acres in the hot sun with my long sleeve shirt and pants drenched in sweat too. Picked up more limbs from the storm 3 weeks ago and found this non aggressive venomous critter under a fallen log so I got the grab tool and tossed it into the woods by the creek where it belongs. If it was aggressive trying to attack I would've killed it but it was only trying to get away from me so I gave it a pass.

Today is much better for me, the flare has subsided for a minute. Doing mostly indoor stuff today, get the indoor zoo fed and fussed with, some cooking, then to the shop to finish up the fishing stuff and air up the Urban. It's been busy with keeping the night time garden raiders at bay.

Betty Lou and I both enjoyed those off the beaten path hole in the wall type hangouts. It wasn't uncommon to find us in a joint where it was customary to throw peanut shells on the floor. Heck, one of my favorite bars had a dirt floor.
We are only about 50% done with what we are planning in here but we're getting there.

I've stayed there too!  Good internet there, though the room had a "somebody is hiding stank with a buncha PineSol" smell.  However, carpets were SWOFFFFTTTT!

Gil, I think I'm missing one on them thar snek critters   Anyhoo, sounds like you had "fun" the Peter&Sonja Way- sweating until drenched while giving Ma Nature a haircut.  Last Saturday I actually had to stop and take a break; even after finishing the work, it took me over half hour to cool down to where I could be in AC without feeling nauseous.  The cold well water shower was amazing though.  The well exceeds 400 feet so the water is fresh, clear, and cold.

Speaking of refresh- and this is directed at Kris- so we tried the Kaged electrolyte mix.  WOWZERS, I've never used anything that works so fast and works so well.  This includes just about everything sold at GNC and Vitamin Shoppe, everything Gatorade makes, BioSteel, PowerAde, and all the other "hero" mixes. 



Today I've already fact-checked some of my work on a couple databases. 

I also switched some bike parts around and now my wife has the chocolate-colored 26" "BMX" bike and I have the dark metallic purple.  We got them last night so it was perfect for a birthday spin on birthday bikes.  I love the fact that we now have so many superb options in cycling.  Cyclocross bikes now come with wider rear triangles and are sold as "gravel bikes", we can get multi-speed 29ers, the 27.5 "hybrid" city bike has matured and I can now get a factory-built 27.5 with a single-speed front and 10 speed rear AND long-travel fork with disc brakes front and rear (likely our next bikes after we move)... plus good old single-speed 29ers, commuter single-speeds with BMX-style compact drive, 22" BMX bikes...  plus all the old stuff.  My last full-custom build was a set of hybrid commuter 36-spoke rims laced up to 3/8" BMX hubs and a Gary Fisher Rangitoto mountain bike frame.  Still had to use the rigid hybrid fork up front but the geometry was decent; a little too laid back for aggressive park and trail riding but a decent urban "stairs and gaps" bike. 

Mountain bikes in general are nuts.  I expect to see Felt and KHS triathlete bikes running north of 6k, but the only mountain bikes worth that kind of coin IIMO) are MAYBE the Ibis BowTi (full suspension frame with no moving parts) and some of the top-tier double-boingers like the San Andreas.  I miss my Cannondale Lefty and the SuperV-3000, but if I ever buy another mountain bike, it will be a 27.5 with a 4" travel front with lock-out and hardtail 10-speed rearend- mechanical disc (not hydraulic).  My old cyclocross bike had hydraulics and I changed it over to Tekno mechanical discs immediately.  I like the 26" wheel, but the 27.5 rolls faster and with less effort.  I'm tall enough for a 29er, but Sonja's only 5' 6" so they're just not comfy for her.



I guess I should take this moment to admit I'm a bicycle fanatic almost as much as I'm a sling-shot fanatic.

Peter the well I have is over 800ft and it tastes fine being tested and confirmed good there's just a smell to it out of the faucet then it's fine afterward that I don't care for. Good to see the dangling ivy dying today after cutting the root yesterday. Picked up loads of limbs and dumped them in the woods. Finally done with all of that 3wks after that big storm. Got the rake and smoothed over the hog damage then packed it down by driving over it with the mower and trailer. Killed ants, did a load of laundry and I need to mow and weed eat more later.
