  I hand washed my Dodge 3500 to get all the thousands of bugs and travel grime and tar off of it and make it look good again. I got tuckered out before I got the wheels shined up but at least the rest is done. Now, I need to run the errands I wrote about yesterday. At 2:00 PM, it is 101°F with 20% humidity. 

I had it in the shade and there was/is a good breeze that kept me fairly cool, evaporating perspiration instantly, and likely dehydrating me more than I was aware of. It's time to drink lots of fluids.

I survived a day in the ranger station!

I hate working indoors and I hate working the drive through window.

I don't think I (slang term for urinating) any visitors off though.

That's the usual outcome of a shift in the penalty box for me.

I had all my trot lines laid out on the deck of the pontoon boat so when I got home we dropped down the river a quarter mile and strung the first line across
a little slough.  We visited two more sloughs and the memsahib was willing to bait some bush hooks for me so we have two trot lines and a dozen bush hooks out.  About ten tonight I will row the jon boat alone and pull all the lines.   I like to  lay trot lines off the big open deck of the pontoon boat  but I prefer to run them with oars rather than power.  With luck I'll soon have a mess of catfish to fry for July 4th!

Yesterday was a vacation day for me, so in typical Anti-Squirrel-vacation-mode, we headed to the property and worked.  Recent storm damage dictated a lot of cleanup after mowing.  After limbing some downed trees, I used the beefed-up push mower to cut/mulch the smaller branches/leaves/twigs while Sonja stacked the big limb sections and moved some tree trunks.  I've seen her do it dozens if not hundreds of times, but it still amazes me she can grab a trunk section 5 feet long and 24" diameter and just haul it away like it's nothing.

Memsahib is "visual"  our tiny backyard does not meet her aesthetic standards....spreading sand and re leveling patio tiles, weed wacking, pulling weeds, hedge triming and cutting down some kind of invasive shrub that's as tall as the house and has vines wrapping around it.  Of course it's like 100 degrees here in Georgia :-(
I told her I was watching the USFL playoffs at 8p today and Shooting AG Sunday afternoon.  And yes "we" are getting up at 7a to finish Sunday so I can leave for AG shoot noonish..

Where I live out of town is in the windy foothills with less asphalt and concrete than the neighborhood in town.
I did some yard work in town and swept up stupid Magnolia leaves that blew into the carport today and it was too HOT for that kind of work, but I just couldn't leave it any longer! I wish the city would get rid of that messy thing.

I worked in my wife's flower gardens this morning starting at 5:30 am.
After that I started watering the 1 acre lawn with a traveling sprinkler.
I then worked on an old push mower that I plan on using as a de-thatcher.
I did a through rehab on it, getting everything loosened up, lubed and operating.
I sanded & patched the fuel tank with J-B Tank weld putty.
Lastly I installed the de-thatching blade.
This mower has a throttle and works well under heavy load.
That mower is 35 years old but it still runs pretty good.

Tom, I had one of those mowers ran 'pretty good'.  I brought it to my son so he could mow the yard at the house he was renting.  When my son finish his schooling in northwest Louisiana (Shreveport), I told him NOT to bring that mower back to me.  I think it may have been more than 20 years old.  How much more, ? ? ?

Added 2 Mobile camera's to the bike, getting ready for a 75+ mile ride, for the first half,
attached a small pocket sized extra battery for the camera's and GPS to run off of,
instead of using the bike battery's.

Added brake lights and turn signals, that way I can keep both hands on the bars.

Attempting find a way to attach my 30L backpack to the bike, I really don't want to wear it on this ride...........
as it going to HOT, I can see.....it's 96* right now and 15% Humidity.......

I survived the 4th of July weekend madness at the park.  I'm off tomorrow so that mess is somebody else problem.  Nobody went to jail and nobody went to the hospital.  In my family that is considered a successful wedding!

In all seriousness I am burnt out after six days straight of summer craziness.  I will probably sleep most of tomorrow.  I sure wont be worth a durn.

 My Saturday work day consisted of spraying thistle and other noxious weeds over the 139 acres that make up the orchard. Also set up the field sprayer for the application of foliar fertilizer for the pumpkins, strange how pumpkin sales rival apple sales here, and Halloween brings all sorts of strange pumpkin pickers

It's a family show here so I wont go into detail but the hernia surgery caused me to swell as if I had a kitten-ball down under. It's been one heck of a weekend so far but swelling is going down and I am a lot more mobile.

Momma dropped the Notos on the shop 10m table for me this morning so I finally get to shoot a little today. Dr. says a max #5 lifting for this week and loading/shooting is ok.

I hung curtains this morning..   
Yesterday I put a spare 5000 btu window a/c unit we had left from selling the RV in the window in the Red Shed. The walk in door is a full panel of smaller windows and the there is the window I put the a/c unit in. The sun was beating in pretty strong and I could stand in front of them and feel the heat.
We had some burlap camo panels that I had hung in the bar/mancave, the kind you find in Walmart's sporting dept. So I cut them to fit and hung them. They work really well to block the sun but I can still see someone approaching through them. I also went out and looked back in and was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't really see back in through them.

Kind of like a tint thing.

You know in the PI you can have the darkest tint and even put that on the windshield full face with NO CUTS----- it's allowed.

Them Brown tint guys have mastered the art of installing " uninterrupted" full tints even on old curved windshields since the 90s 👍
