Textured the ceiling and wall patches today. Next up is primer and paint 🏁🏁🏁Made a run (twice actually) for material for a storage cabinet that is to be built under a garden window. Also picked up some 20"x20" pavers to start figuring out how to spruce up and tie together the immediate area off the carport/back of the house. This place was built in 1930 and a hodge podge of add on over the years. Our main entrance is from the back door under the carport that we dont use as a carport but use it as a covered patio. The old shop is directly behind that back entrance with about 12' of space between the carport and the shop. Many homes exit the back right into the yard. We come out to a gravel strip and an run down building. It doesn't have that inviting, backyard, homey feel so we are trying to remedy that. We also have a graduation party coming up in June so that is a good motivator to get this work done. Went to Bible study tonight and we (my family) headed over to the coffee stand afterwards and got drinks. Our oldest daughter was working there tonight so it was a trip to visit her and say hi. Came home and i hadnt cleaned the griddle from dinner so i tended to that and did a reseason on the cook surface. Now im in bed next to Mrs. P surfing the interwebs winding down for bed to start my work week tomorrow. I work a split shift Tuesday-Saturday with Sunday/Mondays off. Enjoy the week people! 💥 👊🏼

I've heard the PNW is pretty lousy with bald eagles these days, I can say it is definitely true here in eastern coastal Maine. I usually see one on clear days.

We were out and there was a pair in the trees. It's not rare to see bald eagles here. We have a mating pair at the end of our road in a large cottonwood tree.
I grilled burgers and dogs for 100+ people at the local high school band’s outdoor performance at the town I just moved to. The food cart that was supposed to provide food canceled last minute, my neighbor asked for help, so my daughter and I manned the grill. The band was pretty good - those kids were clearly putting their heart into it and it was great to see. A nice early taste of summertime…
Now that looks nice! I had unlevel pavers improperly gapped that size years ago on a degrade which was an ankle break waiting to happen and what a PITA it was to get them all proper with no wobble as I'd never done it before. It wore me out but I had twice that amount of pavers to straighten up too.
Chicken feeders loaded, garden dusted for the little bug suckers. Since the weather is going south later today, I will spend the rest of it in the house cooking up what I got from the store yesterday and package it for separate meals for later on. Wally world dropped the price on huge hams and 2 of them went into the shopping cart. If I had a bigger cooler 4 hams would have come home with me. I cut the meat off the bone and package that up, the bones are cooked down and lentils or quinoa are cooked in the broth with the bone meat in it. I have more turnips to pick so some of the ham will used to season them. I have a canner so canning is not a problem for me. Just tired of the expensive canned goods that are tasteless and loaded with salt.
