Yesterday I forgot the sunblock and got a sunburnt nose. It happened because I went sailing down the coast from the marina with a long time friend.  Went down to Boom Rock against a stiff southerly. It is called Boom Rock because in a decent northerly wind the waves crash into a sea level cave and make a loud boom. It breezed up and we reduced to number 2 jib and a reef in the main. When we turned to go home it was a dead run along the coast in strong wind gusting 30 knots but little sea. We hit 9.2 knots in one of the gusts. She was trying to climb out onto the plane but no way in a displacement hull. Still very fast for a 30 foot boat. There we are enjoying the sun and sea and it crossed my mind that there was 153 years of experience on the boat between the two of us.  We should both be in a retirement village.
No way, just no way will that happen.

PS we two have a lot of adventures on the sea together. Lots of adventures. Me probably more than him because I probably take more risks especially single handed.

Spent the afternoon car shopping, which I really hate.   The car is for my wife who likes cars based on the gas mileage and number of storage compartments up front.  The car is for her but I have to be able to get into it and drive it.   She's petite so every car fits.   I'm oversized and can not reasonably fit through the door to get into the drivers seat on many cars.  Old age, belly and loss of some flexibility don't help either. Amazingly the easiest car for me to enter (amongst those tested)
 was a Subaru.   Never had one before but might be getting one soon.

Pretty red robin pic there! Those birds are a trip to watch. I don't care for how the mocking birds and Jays bully them around though chasing them away from worms and bugs they find.

Had a 03 outback. I miss that car. The seats were made for small people back then but have gotten better now days. Mine had a 4 banger so wasn't real fast but very good milage.

You are right.
We have several screech jays in the yard.
I am afraid they will invade the robin’s nest.
I will try and thin out the jays as best I can.

I like my accord it gets great milage even when I am driving like a knuckle head.

Resumed cleaning and organizing the shop.  It's amazing how fast it can become disorganized and I'm not even working on anything!  It just becomes a dumping ground for everything else.  I guess if I would simply put things back where they belong as soon as I am finished with it then it might stay organized longer?  Anyway, I'm glad that I even have a place and tools to work with organized or not.
