Chris was the neighbor kid I have spoke of who had a Blue Streak, and I had a Benji 342 growing up.
I discretely tucked a .30-06 cartridge in his coffin while gently cursing in his ear for leaving before me.

So sorry for your lost Scott. I guess I'm lucky in that respect, I don't have any friends so no one to grieve over. Just remember the good times you 2 had over the 50 years and count your blessings.

As kids, Chris and I would stand out at the target and call the hits while his Dad shot 200-300 yards away.
Hear it hit the target, then the report.. yell out the shot placement for adjustment.
Guess we were Red neck "spotting scopes"

My condolences Scott. I spend too much time musing about things like that these days. Symptom of our age.

Anyhoo. . . . I am a mighty sailor man.

. I drove four tours today and received three standing ovations for my superlative skills as a jungle boat pilot. In other words three of my tours saw lots of gators and manatee. The first tour was overcast and raining (even the birds were walking). Someone (not me!) hit a stump last week and bent the prop on this boat. The prop is developing a crack and I’m trying to baby it until we can get a new prop next week. So no backing up no firewalling it and stay away from stumps. Today was pretty challenging with very gusty winds and tricky currents. I’m proud of my boat handling skills but the tourist never notice that. All that matters is if we see lots of manatee. Then I’m a hero.

Scott you'll see him again and when you do neither one of you will look old anymore.

The old pool vacuum stopped working so after inspection I found the 3 blade impeller broken with all blades off it's base. Don't know why they broke other than old age as I found no debris in there. Ordered a $19 replacement and will install it myself saving at least $150 confirmed by a pool vacuum tech. Just glad I don't have to buy a new one as they're $1k. My 3yr old car battery wouldn't hold 12v where I kept having to jump it started so I got a new one installed.

Den flooring is done.

Brought in a bunch of brick Facia to do the base in a couple days after it all warms up.
The Den is SWMBO ready as I have 7 outlets wired to two seperate breakers!

70* today & windy. I got home before noon from work and installed my high-vacuum deck kit on my Hustler mower. Put on the sharpest blades I had on hand and got one last mowing done, shredded the leaves and sent them to the wood line. It’s supposed to get to 26* by morning.
