I found another private range cult - I mean club nearby this weekend, so now I'm a member of two ranges in Washington county. The club meeting is tonight and I'm taking their mandatory safety class this coming Friday.

Had me almost fooled because he looked like plastic just laying in the shallow water like that.

A zoo up by Green Bay has an albino gator named Lucky, pretty strange critter. Another place up that way Doc's Harley Davidson, has a few, their old one jumped the fence this summer, but was found basking in a nearby swamp

Been doing some brushcutting/clearing to plant privacy bushes/trees last several days, also received the Bundeswehr Flecktarn Parka that I ordered-man o man will that thing be great this fall/winter!   
With the liner, and maybe some extra layers; perfect for extremely cold weather outside-wear only the shell, and it's good for warmer weather... Couldn't find a good chore/field coat that looked like what I wanted after the MidwayUSA one that I had picked out was discontinued-but this one looks/fits PERFECTLY   
Long-sits below the waistline, about halfway to the knee from there; so the wind won't go right up between my layers when I stoop to pick something up/look at tracks etc. Good, heavy material; and lots of pockets-exactly what I wanted 
And it appears to be genuine brand-new unissued Bundeswehr surplus-so exceedingly well-built, too!!

Today is moving stuff out of the backroom into the new 12 X 16 She Shed.
Once that is done? Gonna measure for pouring self leveler in the back room for new flooring.
It's an old concrete pad and not well done! It's going to be our Living room once I get that leveled.

Stayed home from work today not feeling too well. So far just laying around resting and messing around on my tablet. Hopefully this passes today. I hate missing work and all the mental stress it causes me.

Betty Lou and I took a ride to Greenville about 30 miles away. We had a fish sandwich at McDee's and strolled through a large second hand junk store there. Then we stopped at this old biker dude's pawn shop. Inside he had a huge Rot chained to the wall behind the counter. The old dude said, Jake thinks you folks are good people, if not he would be growling and barking. Instead Jake came to the end of his chain wagging and begging for attention. He loved and licked on me and Betty Lou like a big old baby. Awesome dog.
By the time we left we just about exchanged life stories with the old biker dude. And the funny thing is, we never got his name and he never asked our's. I did ask if he had any old airguns and he said he had an old Benjamin pumper in the back for years and one day he decided to pull it out. He sold it that same day.

Actually I lived in North Georgia for about five years.  Went to college in Dahlonega.  Worked as a park ranger at Elachee Nature Science Center.  We still own ten acres near Farner Tennessee too!

Driving down out of the mountains with all the Floridiots and leaf peepers was a chore.  Especially as my V6 Ford Ranger proved a bit underpowered for the job.  Still.  We got the job done and now we’re safely home in the swamp again.

Gathered the fishing poles and prepared them for fishing. I inherited several from my BIL when he passed as well as the ones I already had. I have near 20 now. All flavors, types and sizes. Tomorrow I will get out the 4 or 5 tackle boxes and go through them. I'll set each up for each type of fishing. He did mostly boat fishing and we do mostly bank fishing.
A buddy of mine has a 14ft aluminum jon boat on a trailer with an older 9hp motor on it and I have a battery trolling motor in the shed. He wants $500 for it. I might get that. They stock the county lakes here and it's like $3 a day to fish in them.

For fishing what about a row boat   not a sawn off tinny that will row like bath but a proper row boat designed for oars  no motor . Alabama must have some traditional rowing river boats  you might be surprised,at how much fun nice row boat can  be. No problems with old outboards and stinky petrol and spanners;   a handful of Scroggin and you are fuelled up

A $500 Jon boat with a motor (running or not) and a trailer sounds like a decent deal to me. All I really need for my 14’ Jon is a 35lb thrust trolling motor.  If I need to cover some water I’ll lock the motor in place and break out the oars.  You can move surprisingly fast using both the trolling motor and the oars.

 BTW, a Jon is no Whitehall pulling boat but properly trimmed they are not unpleasant to row.

Spent the morning relining poles and sorting tackle. I ended up with 15 good poles and reels, 2 large tackle boxes full of compartment boxes and all fishing related tools and gear and 2 walk about fishing fanny bags (his and hers) with everything needed to walk around to the other side of the pond/lake or up and down stream.
We have a 10x10 popup awning to get out of weather and compact lawn chairs. I have my pick of fishing buddy pistols and carbines and the 12v compressor and a few tanks.
I've been gathering this stuff for several years preparing for retirement.
And I just finished talking to my buddy with the jon boat. He is interested in trading for a shotgun or two that I have. I have 6 or 8 of them and could give up a couple. I'll get with him when he's off work this evening.

I had an appointment for an Electrophysiology implant this morning but Martha woke up with a feverish covid type sickness so I cancelled the Dr. appointment and looked after her.  I might step out back and shoot a spoon or two before supper.

We're supposed to be in the upper 30's in the morning, I may have to find some long britches if I'm going to shoot tomorrow.
