Dan I hate power steering leaks. Good that you got that stopped. A old truck with no leaks is a loved truck.

I do love my '69 GMC. It really runs and drives like a new '69 did back then, well at least like my dad's '72 GMC did in '72, I wasn't driving in '69. It is a 350 V8 with a Turbo 400 transmission with a shift kit and 4.11 rear end. It is a great cruiser. If it had AC it would be perfect. I does need paint to look perfect but I like it's looks as is.

That is a sharp truck. I bet it can scoot with that steep rear end.

It does pretty well off the line and tows heavy loads well. I don't have a tach on it, but I know it is busy at freeway speed though so gas mileage isn't great.

I had a 74 GMC with a modified 350 that got around 6mpg and it was such fun because of that and it sounded great too but I hated the 3spd trans on the freeway. Yep yours is a great survivor with character it doesn't need paint. Is what I loved about mine which didn't look anywhere near as good as yours so I never washed it or cared if people dinged my doors in parking lots. It didn't look impressive but it was fun to drive and made a great work truck so I made a lot of great memories out of it and still miss it despite it being the ugliest thing I've ever driven with a worn out original green front end and a black bed but to it's credit it did have good tall knobby tires which alone were worth the $800 that I paid for the truck.

My dad was among other things an autobody man and automotive painter who owned his own Body Shop for a few years, so paint and body are always things that draw my attention. I do like the patina but know I would love fresh paint also. The truck is pretty straight. The only damage it has gotten since I have owned it is from one of my grandsons rear ending someone when I let him drive it one day, (NO NOT MY BUMPER ) and from a tire separation that I had happen on the freeway. 

I have never been a driver that just bounces off things, but knows where my vehicle ends and pays attention. I have been hit a few times while in or on various vehicles though when I could not avoid someone else's poor driving, or mistake as the case may be. I have been fortunate when I have made mistakes, that at least my timing was good so that it did not cause an accident, LOL.

I had some bigger tires and off road lift springs on my '69 for a while but hated the ride.
This speedometer pic is what it is, it is not calibrated so it is not actual speed. It was a clear road with no traffic and good tires, may have had a little left but I backed off at that point curiosity satisfied.

That's 1 of the reasons the wife and I left commieformia behind. All of my kids, wife and I were born and raised except my oldest in commieformia and all but my son have moved to other states. Oldest was born in Okinawa but also raised in commieformia. Never going back.

Not for about 45 years, I did back then for about 4 months while I lived in Missouri, so I know what it is like and don't want that affect. I was unemployed, depressed and had money so, I stayed under the influence of Alcohol and Marijuana most of time. It didn't solve any problems but did waste quite a bit of money.

Made some pickets for a garden fence, put them in the ground, moved some slabs to use for rails, and I'm pooped. After I clean up I'll be done for the day. The wind is too high to shoot, unfortunately. Enough to make our cotton cleaning towels go horizontal on the clothes line. Seems like if I want to shoot, I'll have to do it early in the morning or at close range. Eventually I have to get an anemometer so I can know exactly how fast and what direction the wind is blowing.

I thought so but I answered to make clear that I don't believe it really helps to be numbed or dumbed. I do understand people thinking it helps because of the temporary feeling they get from it. When that feeling goes away nothing is better and there is a pretty good chance it was made worse by their decisions and or actions during impairment. Some people do better than others while impaired, but I believe none do as well as they would if they stayed sober. To each his own though, I do understand the appeal.

Looks nice! The speedo is pretty much the only thing that worked on mine. The fuel gauge didn't and left me stranded a couple times because of it and my lead foot. Never tried pot but got dizzy playing tennis once when smokers were in the woods next to us. I do like cbd oil for my body pains though!
