Just got done transplanting some 270+ onions here...
Already have a 4 x 24 foot bed planted in spinach for the spring crop; another 4 x 24' bed prepped for the celery; celery transplants getting hardened in the coldframe; and peppers and tomatoes just started inside... Around 150 foot of taters to go in just as soon as the weather cooperates...

I have those pavers too. I just spray the cracks with weed killer and no more weed eating for me until next season. I run thick diamond line in my weed eater so I can wack em down while not spinning anywhere near full throttle which saves a ton of line, especially near concrete, brick or chain link fencing. In thick weeds I run full throttle if none of those obstacles are around.

Finishing up a 9'x20' trailer for to play with my airguns anywhere I go. Jk I wish, but today we installed a minisplit to stay cool, and hopefully tomorrow the windows. All this was done in the driveway & mostly by my pops.

More of the same today with a couple of interpretive programs tossed in.  We don’t use herbicide because this park is at the headwaters of a beautiful spring fed river.  We don’t want herbicides leaching into the springs.   So we use a string trimmer.  Hey!  It’s job security!

My brother in law was a hugh fan of RoundUp for years and years. He had a sprayer mounted on his ATV. Six months ago he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

In some cases, Parkinson's has been linked to environmental factors like pesticides and herbicides. And Round Up has been outted as a very toxic solution. Makes you wonder if his years of breathing the overspray had something to do with his condition.

Mostly I worked on college stuff today. When the rain stops we will refill our short term firewood storage finish prepping the garden, start some more seeds, and re-pot my annual herbs.

 Went at the trees and Elderberries with my new cordless pole saw, works like a champ, then ended up blocking my 30 yard backstop, with a pile of woodchips  but the 50 yard is clear, and I have room to bump my shooting shed back to 55 yards on the now 50 yard range 
 Also PO'd a bunch of HOSP as they liked to fly around the garage to land in the elderberries, only to fly around looking for them, only to find a few skinny shoots

I worked on my new work van yesterday and the garage. Trying to get it organized and how I want it. I didn’t get it finished, but it’s coming along. I have a 4 day weekend next week. I resolved to just keep nipping at it this week and it’ll probably be finished over my 4 days off. I wound up taking a late nap and then took my bride out to dinner.

Yesterday I lead a hike and gave a historic interpretive program. That was in the morning. In the afternoon I patrolled the beach (thong patrol) and acted as the “heavy” for another ranger who was dealing with some rowdy teenagers.  Filled some potholes in the service road and varnished some more bench slats.  Standard ranger day sans any excitement.

Yesterday, after work I had almost 2 hours of daylight left. I got the line trimming done in the backyard, put new blades on the Hustler (Reaper blades by Mower Parts Group) and got the mowing done in the backyard for the dogs. I’m super impressed how the new blades did. Even though I hadn’t cut for 2 weeks (grass was nearly a foot high) they left no clumps and I was able to cut a single pass. It only took me about 20 minutes to mow. The line trimming took quite a bit longer, grass was high and I had to re-string sometime in the middle. I’ll get the rest of the mowing and trimming done tomorrow after work, or Friday, after we dry out a some again.

Got 22 inches of heavy wet snow. What a mess. Power went out Monday night at 10pm and is not back up yet. Running on the genny and using the satellite connection. Its said to melt today as we are going above freezing. 15 miles south of me on the flatlands they got just over an inch. Lots of trees down so I will be dealing with that.

Just got a call from Pete at the tire shop. he has our RV sold and wants us to bring it down tonight after work.
The money from that will pay off the truck and take $350 off the monthly bills and one step closer to the retirement plan.
Things are coming together... slow but sure.
