How many cords annually? After we build a shop and a greenhouse I'd like to heat them with a downdraft boiler, which would also be connected to our house in this fantasy scenario. The cookstove has been doing the bulk of our heating, which is also connected to our domestic hot water, with the fairly mild winter. Our tiny Morso actually does a better job of heating the house, but I cook a lot and love using the cookstove.

Ours boiler is 20 years old and are looking for the replacement, probably the Classic Edge 560 Titanium HDX. It is also the downdraft and 90% efficient.

Yesterday got the lawn mower up and running; changed the starter solenoid; one deck lift cable; swapped a tire and lubed the front end... Also got some misc. clean-up done...
Got the mower deck back together today; hit the trailer with rust converter. and got groceries.

I mowed the front yard. I did attempt to shoot my Woods Walker but the fill nipple is leaking and so it was at 0 PSI 
Oh well should be a real easy fix.

You will love a gasser, just make sure you are at least two years ahead on wood, you will use 30% less wood than with your current setup. You are heating at least three or four times our square footage, so I can't say I'm surprised at your usage. So far a "cold" winter for us takes four cords of mixed hard and softwoods. This winter is looking like three cords, mostly spruce and fir slabs from the mill with about 20% of tamarack for overnight burns.

I was cutting some limbs into small fire pit sized logs when I heard Betty Lou yelling at Rambo. Apparently he found the only section of fence we didn't put in through the swamp in the back of the property. It was around 70' and we were going to let it dry up some before we went slopping around in it. Rambo usually avoids the swamps... Nancy boy. He must have made his way all the way around the airport and back to the front of the house out on the dirt road. It's a busy little airport and we don't want the dogs on the runways.
So I put the chainsaw up and we went into fence running mode. We put on our neoprene waders to avoid snake bites and mucked our way through the job. Didn't take long to get all hot and sweaty but, the job is 100% done now.
Little by little we're whipping this place into shape. It sure has cut into my shooting time lately.

First Day I have felt decent in three weeks.
Cutting the weeds in my Southeast Field, but did it with a walk behind Weed Whip.
Thought I was getting exercise, instead I got a massive dose of Pollen, created a Sinus Headache and infection that put me on my butt.

Took a double dose of antibiotics, and a bottle of Naproxen, only thing that would take out the pain in my head.

Hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight.

Anyway, Squirrels beware, I'm back !

Got the mowing done yesterday and picked out the spot for the small veggie garden. We had an old farm truck hauled away a couple weeks ago and it left the perfect spot. We have a 10' x 20' 6 panel chain link dog kennel that will enclose it to keep critters out. I inherited a small Honda FG110 tiller from my BIL a few years back so we pulled it out of the barn. It would run after sitting so I ordered a kit for it. New carb, filters/fuel line and spark plug.

Watch out Bill.  Detroit iron is toxic.  Personal experience.  We had an 70’s Chrysler mouldering away on our property for years.  After it was towed off nothing would grow (not even weeds) where it stood.  The bare patch is still there.
Anyhoo. . . .  I sanded and varnished another 45 feet of cypress bench railings.  Beautiful wood but so hard to work with!  Then I stripped and painted the wrought iron bench frame.  Almost done with the park bench restoration project.

Same thing happened to me. We had an old van parked for about three years and it seemed like it took that long or longer for grass to grow back after we moved it.

So I been eyeing a new revo for a while and today swung by my local Hobby Town and bought one in silver 2 extra glow plugs and a gallon of VP 20%. I will be checking all the screws and such before I start the break in. Besides the yard is wet and Id like to do this on a nice dry day, these get messy enough without the aid of mud.

Got home from work to find Betty Lou outside raking up fallen leaves and pine needles. I hated to bust her bubble but I had to get up on the roof and push all the stuff up there off and it all landed where she had already raked. I told her to drop a tarp and catch it but she insisted that she would just rake it again. I finished the front and will do the larger back area this weekend. Such is life living in the woods.

First stop...pick up the taxes from the accountant then drove to the yawn I cut for hire.  First cutting of the year...yuk  soooo many leaves to mulch.  Then home for lunch and a two hour break before heading to my daughter's yard. First cutting of the year on her yard...yuk again  soooo many leaves again to mulch. 
So taxes paid, two yards mowed.  Good day.

Took a “mental health day” today.  I did manage to chronograph some pellets but mostly I moved a bunch of furniture for my mom and helped the memsahib in the garden.  Got another truck load of manure for the compost.  We are up to 14 raised mounded beds this year and beaucoup pots, tubs, and buckets.  We are growing about 6 or 7 variety’s of beans this year as well as peppers, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, strawberries and various herbs.

I use ear phones plugged into my phone to listen to podcasts while I mow which I also did today so I can learn what's going on in the world while I'm mowing but I must admit I have not missed doing that with all the bugs hitting me in the face and dust in my eyes. I'm missing the winter right about now.

Cut some posts from fallen timber and worked on marking a 100-yard stretch of property line; new neighbors have 5 acres and spend an average of 25% of the whopping hour or two a week that they actually show up over there pushing against our southern border to the last inch; and then some 
Getting really tired of jackasses for neighbors! I have little enough time left over after getting everything else done to be dealing with them

Cleared the multiflora roses (briars) out of a section of woods; and mucked out a drainage ditch-trying to get rid of all the briars so they don't choke the young trees that will fill things in from the ash borer damage out.
Some had 3-4 1" stems at the base; and stretched out to a good 20' long once we got them yanked out 
They will literally climb up trees; pulling down limbs and choking them to death for lack of light and air-make good rabbit habitat though.
