Projector Headlights are in and working.
Angle Eye are working but to me vet brights, maybe too bright, may need to add a resistor in the power line.

Next the Grille Lights and now new Horns, then the powered mirrors.

Bought a pack of smokes.
"$6.51" she said
I gave her a Twenty, a One, two quarters and a penny.
A bit confused and rather snidely, she laid it out on the counter and says...
 "What am I supposed to do with this?"

I smiled at the ~25 year old clerk and said...
"Give me a Ten and a Five"

"No, I can't do that" she said.     
(at that moment the little voice in my head said "here we go... be nice Scott")

My reply, said literally "Just punch that $21.51 I gave you in that box" (pointing at the cash register)

She said "WOW... sorry I am new" and gave me a Ten and a Five....

I said "That's OK , it's the new math, I learned it 50 years ago" and left.


I bet her head is still swimming on that one.

I haven't seen smokes that cheap since I was overseas. Here they're 17.50 a pack.

I hear you, Gil. It’s more complicated with as big as this company wants to grow and actually is growing. I’m trying to stick it out 5 more years, then I hope to be in position to do something completely different. So, I put up with it, and my bosses know it.

Btw that boss was fired and I was rehired to work under a great new boss. The other employees were happy to see the old boss gone and see me back as well so all worked out in the end.

Yup, Government figured it would make people quit, if they royally taxed them.

I quit 7 years ago, and it was up to 13.75 a pack.




What I did today, fix my office chair, I broke the strut and fell over.

Betty Lou and I buy the bulk bag of tobacco and roll our own.... $.50 a pack.
We have an electric machine.. put the tobacco in, slide a tube on and close the lever... out comes a smoke. less than 10 minutes to roll a pack. No additives and no safety carpet glue.
It's classified as pipe tobacco and no cig tax.
Lots of brands to choose your taste from. She mixes a bit of menthol in her's and rolls the long 100's.

i've been surfing the net gathering info on the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway (AICW).  The Great Dismal Swamp Canal to be specific.  Early next week I'll be bringing our 30' sailboat from Topping, Va to Oriental, NC.  I've read accounts of duckweed clogging the raw water intakes of boats and the engines overheating.  So far I've found there is no problem with it at the GDSC Welcome Center, and I left a message with the Deep Creek Lock Keeper in Va so I'm hoping to hear back this afternoon.  I also sent an email to the Army Corp of Engineers who maintain the canal.


for those not familiar, construction began in 1793 and it played a big roll in the underground railroad.  many descendants of those slaves still live in and around the swamp.

Finish cleaning up fishing gear, the rain yesterday hampered that project, look for more fruit trees, and maybe find a set of tires for the truck.
