Just killed another rattlesnake. I ended up killing it with a really big rock. I'm going to start leaving my 1377 in my truck. Tried to run it over but missed. It was a old one with lots of rattles.

I give rattlers a pass but I bust all cotton mouths I see.  I’ve graduated to .25 cal for snake charming.  Got my Striker set up for short range reptile shooting. A 1377 will do the job.  Eventually.  But you are going to want to shoot them three or four times to make sure they are dead.

With venomous snakes I say “better safe than sorry”, so they all get a double tap to the noggin.

To be truly safe, I just used a 12 ga when I lived in Texas. I haven't seen a snake in the wild in the last 40 years ( exception 1 garter snake which I like). Still carry an air rifle when out and about in my woods.

It's a hot and muggy day here, but I wanted to get the new gas grill assembled. The old one still works, but the grill floor is nearly corroded through, and just about ready to give out. Oh, and with all the fat dripping and rusty metal fragments that has built up on that floor, it would occasionally catch on fire
So, I got a new grill..... actually, it's the same exact grill! Bought the original from Walmart about 4 years ago, and got the new one last weekend on clearance for $120. I'm actually glad they still make this model and having it really changed it. I like how it cooks. The burners are set further from the grate, then most gas grill I've used. So, it's less inclined to char food. After assembly, I gave it about a half an hour of burn time to break it in.
Once that was done, I started my seafood gumbo for dinner tonight. Should be done in about another half hour.

I used a #8 20ga shell on a moccasin that blew his head clean off at 7yds since I aimed right behind it's head. No longer have that rifle so I'll have to bust out the 410 on the next one. I like to save the 12ga for hogs at close range with 00 shot. Hit 6 of them a few days ago all running together at mid range and they haven't been back since which means they ate all 6 shells and didn't care for another helping.

Let see, today I will be putting up LED string lights, made by Feit, around the rear Patio Cover.
My problem is the lights are 48' long and the Cover is 64' around the outside edge, so the wife purchased two set and wants a particular spacing between the lighting.
They come with a 24" space between the sockets and she doesn't want 24", too wide, why did she buy htem with the spacing if she didn't want that spacing ?
I didn't a few measurements, thought it over and came up with an idea... over lapping of the two set along the long-side of the cover will give me 1' spacing on the long-side and 2' spacing on the short ends... NOT ! No 2' spacing.   I told her to come up with the spacing she wants and do it... she said to do it my way.  LoL !

I have one set up and although I don't like it it is what it is, this AM will add the second set and see what they look like.   If I change the spacing the way I really want it, I will only lose the little plastic hangers.

I also broke out two of the new tiles I put on the exterior counter top, they were high on one end and needed to be replaced, that too should be done today.

After that the Honey Do List says Office Shelving, BIG, BIG, project, I'm thinking a week but maybe more... no since in rushing it !

So thank for listening, back to work on these projects and then onward to another project; how do they come up with sssoooo many ideas !

Scraped my mower deck clean and put on sharp blades. I’m planning on mowing Monday. It was supposed to rain today, but didn’t. My boss came by and cleaned out all his tools and personal stuff from his old van that I’m borrowing. Then we had Mexican for lunch. Took an obligatory vacation nap. Since it didn’t rain, not sure what I want to do now. Maybe shoot some Co2 rifles.

Bees in the basement so rather then using bug spray, I got a bug zapper that looks like a tennis racquet. Powered by 2 AA batteries, it give a loud snap and spark when a bug (or bee) touches it. So an afternoon of badminton with bees.  Considerably fewer bees now.  Hoping that I will soon finish them all. But I see a future for the zapper outside when flies are annoying or mosquitoes buzzing around. I see myself looking for trouble with it.

Making a second batch of black powder for my canon, cleaning out all the totes I took to convention, putting stuff back into the pole barn and cleaning up the garage. I also need to get my workbench back, the "Project Monster" has all sorts of carp laid out that needs to find the circular file or be put away.

Getting tested for Covid and then watching three girls I'm relates to get crazy with confinement. Might go for a beach walk.
