Loaded up the wife, kids, and dogs and went to the beach!  Actually just the bay shore and not the gulf.  We know a private spot with shady trees, white sand, and gentle surf.  Just the place to take the dogs. Had a great time, saw some dolphins, and wore the dogs slap out!

Will probably do the back tonight.

Hindsight is always . . . .
Maybe I should NOT have fertilized the lawn last Fall and again last month. 
Yesterday was the eighty day since the last mowing; and I had to go very slow so as not to choke down the mower.  Hummm!
Anybody know how to put a V8 on a 22" lawn mower?

Mowing will be part of my life for the next six months.
I'm one of the lucky ones that has a small riding mower
and only two small lots, but it still takes at least 4 hours a week.

Well, after my repair parts took a USPS tour across the country, literally from MA to CO to IN,  they were delivered Wednesday.
 Finished it this afternoon and the thrill is still there. Slow and easy at first but short bursts of WOT were "exciting".
 The 30 YO Ni-Cad battery packs I have are "no longer worthy"... run time was about 3 minutes.
So that will be my next purchase.

Went to work.  Rebuilt two Sloan ST 2000 series toilet valves.  Serviced the waterless urinals.   Put the box blade and the bucket on the Kubota and graded the boat ramp.  Built a drag out of some lumber, engineer stakes, and old chain link fence.  Then I dragged it around the  approach roads to the boat ramp.  I am now tired and very dusty.

I noticed a bit of moisture on the floor by our 50 gal hot water heater. Wiped it up, a few hours later its back. Yep, it's leaking. Only lasted 27 years.
I'll check tomorrow to see if it's leaking around one of the elements.

27 years is pretty good on a water heater, Brother Dan. If you can fix it, even better! I had to replace mine last summer.

My rc addiction is at a fever pitch right now. Just picked up another scale crawler this past weekend. This still be my 3rd 1/10 scale since February! I've also got 3 old vehicles back up and running as well. The green one of my newest addition.

We tore down an old barbed wire fence that was over our property line by 30' or so feet, ran the brush hog over all the saplings and tall grass, hauled off all the debris and got it ready for the trail mower. Next up is skirting a bunch of pines to open up the area so we can have more space in the backyard for the grandkids to play.

Tonight will be a bunch of sod-busting out front so momma can build a flower garden under the picture window.

Betty Lou and I spent Sunday cleaning up the inside of the trucks. Next she'll work on the outside. She is excited about her 'new to her' 2000 GMC. Killer made us a deal we couldn't refuse.

Bill because it knew better considering the dude driving it. The truck knew he meant business. Congrats and continued success with it.


Drained the mower oil then changed the leaking rocker gaskets that had the engine bay and muffler coated with oil. Changed the filter, added new oil then cleaned off all the old oil and it's now running great without a drop leaked.

I decided to drive Betty Lou's Sierra to work today. It needed gas in it. I stopped and put $60 in it. I called her from work and told her she needed to go get a job now. Time to grow up and get some responsibility.... I was joking, of course.
