I built a frame for the picture my son gave me of his team on the police force that they had up on a local bill board for awhile. My son is second from the left.
I hope they weren't your shooting fingers
Yesterday at work, I sliced open the backside of 2 fingers on a piece of sheet metal that slipped. The nice lady showed no concern for my pain, but said she’d clean the blood off the floor “for me”. She was very polite, but pretty sure she was not happy with me, even though I did my own first aid & fixed the machine that’s been giving them problems for months.
started sanding the cutting board surfaces flat with the belt sander. blew the belt off and didn't have a replacement. Went to Lowes and HD and neither had the 4x24 size that I needed. Ill check HD by my work tomorrow afternoon when I head in.

One think I really hate is to cut myself. One day back in late summer I had borrowed my son's zero turn to cut a friend's yard. Mine was in the shop. Well the belt jumped off the pulleys on the mower deck. After putting the belt back on I was pulling hard on the spring trying to put the tensioner spring back on and it slipped. The hook on the end of the very stiff very taunt spring slid down my thumb all the way to the nail digging a deep furrow as it went. I bled like a stuck hog. Just glad I had a first aid kit in my truck. Oh and I have a picture. This was taken about 4 days later.I'm really sorry about your two fingers. Yeah I like gory, you got pictures John?
Good job Gil. Just don't become this guy.
Watched a video on pouring babbitt bearings on a pre 1930 tractor. It was really cool, my dad said model T's had babbitt bearings and I wanted to see how they were made/installed and it was fascinating. Frankly given the precision of modern engines which I have rebuilt a couple of, I'm surprised they worked LOL
Thanks Brett, they're beautiful. Labor if love indeed.
Hoo Ha! Nice work Brett! Beautiful woodwork!
Nice work on the cutting board Brett. Here is a challenge for ya, take the cross cuts and make a flower in the middle of one, you will have to do some eye balling and geometry to get it to look right but worth it. I use Corel Draw and Photo Paint to create this pattern. Then mask tool to quarter the pattern. Copy, paste, and rotate the quarter until you get what you want. The extruder tool is what I use to make the rings. InkScape software does the same and it's free. I do it this way so I don't mess up any wood and helps with the cutting of the blocks in the right direction. Quilting rulers are very handy when doing this.https://inkscape.org/
They came out great Brett! Nicely done.
