Assembled a new ladder stand to put up on the new permission. Did a little grocery shopping to get me by till the end of the month. Emptied out my P.O. Box before I have to take a pry bar to get the mail out. My new hunting boots was in the mix, they fit perfect. The place that I am hunting stays wet most of the time so I am not to crazy sitting in a tree stand with wet feet. Just a quiet, lazy day which was nice for a change.

I just leave a few things off them, will put a gun rail on it. I don't use the full extension on them, don't need a sky box where I hunt, just need to get off the ground because of the bears. 10ft. to 12ft. is plenty height, there is enough brush around to get hid in. Plus with it being shorter it will make it easy to pick up and lean against the tree. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Realtree-15-Basic-Single-Man-Ladder-with-Grip-Jaw-System/294289034

I make my own ladder stands and basket stands out of EMT conduit and I am always looking for ideas. The ladder stands are 16' and the basket stand ladder are in 5' sections, I think 20-35' are the usual heights.
Finally got out to my deer stand this morning. Wind chill was around 19 with a strong north wind blowing into my face. After seeing nothing, not even a squirrel, for several hours and listening to several trees going down in the woods, I yielded to my frozen hands and quit. Tomorrow is another day.
Helped my youngest son track down his buck!

One of my favorite homemade ones is on my parent's property and unfortunately that is an 8 hour drive to get it. To me the EMT ones are way better than the manufactured ones.
