Hit a dang stump and the belt came off. That will be my first job this morning.

That will be my first job this morning.I cut my stumps down to less than 2 inches tall so my deck either passes over them without touching or rolls on top of them without issue. They'll start to rot away and break off in chunks in a few years. If your saw isn't long enough to cut through it all at once then just cut one section of it off at a time.
Kris, I have a similar line-trimmer; it doesn't have the clutch assembly, though. I'm looking at getting a nicer one in the next year or two, and yeah, they work marvelous in flooded yards.

Peter, I had a craftsman for a long time and it did the job but the mow ball on it was a pain to replace and would clog up quick. I went with the DR because of the mow ball system also it was electric start as well. Bought it on sale in 2016 and this is the first break down its had, so for 4 year I can't complain. The only other minor complaint with it is the axle, it's aluminum and doesn't hold up well. I accidentally dropped it off the back of my truck and it folded up the wheels, I manged to get them straightened out without breaking them. Everything else is in good condition. If I can't get it settled with customer service, I will just order stainless steel cable and make my own. This not the week for lawn toys going down.

Sounds like the engineering team dropped the ball on that... Otherwise, sounds like a great machine. For the price, definitely a good value. I actually really enjoy using my line trimmer- I refer to it as The Walk-Behind Brush-Destructo!

I agree that they dropped the ball on the axle, to me that would have be the strongest part of the whole machine. I would buy another from them because they are well made and easy to use. Well I got a hold of DR and the parts are on the way, the young man was helpful and polite. I will just have to live without for a few days and hopefully in the next day or so I can get the rider to cut the high and dry stuff. I was looking a BCS walk behind for the heavier stuff. Since I have the Kubota now, I will just buy a bushhog for it.https://www.bcsamerica.com/products/tractors
