Yesterday after work, I picked up dog-mines (neverending task with 9 dogs here), used the weed-wacker, and then mowed. I have only about .6 acres so it doesn't take long to push. My 4-stroke line-trimmer is on semi-retirement, so I may give it to a buddy who is starting his own lawncare company. Darn thing is 21 years old and still cuts like a champ. I have a walk-behind line trimmer I use for big lot clearing, and a feather-weight 2-stroke I perma-borrowed from my father when I last visited. Considering I bought it for him nearly 20 years ago, it owes nobody nothin'! Also big testament to keeping small engines in good shape Anyway, it was hot and humid, about what I expected. I was wrapping up the mowing when Sonja got home from work- right as Amazon showed up with a new skateboard for me. I've been teaching Sonja how to cruise around on a long-board in preparation for snowboarding this upcoming winter. Hah, pair of 50 year olds out cruising the hood.Matt- I'm a bit envious- we don't have space for a pool table. OTOH, we can take 45 yard shots in the backyard with the airguns so it's all trade-offs.Kris- I'm intrigued by that fogger. OTOH, as I walked Sonja out this morning to the van, we stopped and watched bats for a good 5 minutes cartwheeling and playing/eating the bugs. The neighborhood rides the last couple nights have almost required full-face helmets to protect from being pelted with bugs.
The baseball game lasted longer than the time limit because of a slight delay due to electrical activity in the sky - lightning and thunder. My grandson's team won 5 - 2. He was the starting pitcher. For the game, he pitched 75 pitches before being relieved. He pitched a no hitter. While he was pitching, he shut out the other team. He struck out nine and put out another who hit the ball back to the pitcher - he threw the kid out at first. And in addition to all that, he hit an in the park HOME RUN. Yes, I am a proud grandfather.
Lying in my hammock and smoking a big one. I don't worry about mowing the grass. I'm just white trash. I mow the yard maybe twice a year. It's too much work dodging all the old cars, boats, trailers, and just junk in my yard. One of the advantages of living in the swamp. No HOA!
Went to work like I did yesterday and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that and the day before that. Retiring 12/31/2020, then I will Shoot and Shoot and Shoort. Ok I’ll stop now.
I worked so hard at NOT working while I was working that by the time I retired, I had it down to a science.
