Got an interesting call tonight  from and elderly man I have known and admired for over 50 years.
Gary went to school with my Mom. His wife and Mom were best friends then and still are today.
 See Gary's one of the original Hot Rodders who's getting long in the tooth. I pitted for his blown Mopar F.E.D. in the 70's.
 So he calls me tonight out of the blue and asks if I am still into old motorcycles. I said "SURE!" wondering what he needed.
Just the opposite.

He still has his old bike and wants it to go to someone who will appreciate it.
 Soooo.... I am getting an old skool Long Bike.
 I remember it as a kid. Classic '60's Chopper. Metal flake blue Triumph Trident!

It's been stored in the attic for about 40 years.
He is gathering all the parts and giving it to me only asking to get to ride it when I am done if he isn't in a wheel chair.

Peter I hope you didn't get one that looks like these year models because the transmissions go out every 40k or less due to their flawed design yet Honda does not cover the replacement despite them losing a lawsuit over it. I found that out the hard way after replacing transmissions on mine twice. The most I could get them to cover was half the expense and that was after fighting with them to do so both times which was over $1k out of pocket each time. I swore off Honda after that but the later models were better from what I've heard. I just saw one on the side of the road today. I bet it was the trans that went out on them.

We have the newer style, 2013.

Today will be an airgun-free day.  I feel my life forces dwindling as I try to get IT professionals to understand I support >my< software, not their infrastructure.  AND WHY DO THESE PEOPLE NOT KNOW HOW TO OPEN COMMAND PROMPT!

I too am dealing with unnatural situations related to work today.
Mine are in the form of the human type.
It seems folks are under the impression that if I fire them, they qualify for unemployment plus the government "perk".
So, they are pushing buttons.... mine in particular.
One went so far as to inform me that he could not handle the stress I put on him by asking him to do his job and he would need to leave.... he has left 3 times like this in the past week. I told him, "if you leave, put your badge and parking pass on my desk." I returned to my desk to find his badge and parking pass. The status report went to HR stating "Quit - no notice". Another team member followed him out the door without leaving his credentials. His status report went in as... "Job abandonment".
If they apply for unemployment HR will fight both cases.
Further peeing in the pot includes...
1 team member called in sick.
1 team member waiting for COVID-19 test results
1 team member request a half personal day for court appearance.
.... and I had already began the day 3 team members and 2 temps short.
My department TO now stands at half staff.
I have 4000 parts that need sorted due to cracking issues.
We have a brand new Korean VP that started this week. His English vocabulary consists of one word..... "Why?"

Today I picked up a new truck. Finally found the one to replace "Farrah the Ford F-1 Fiddy"

Beulah is a "Full figured Gal". Like diving a Limo....
8' bed, heavy payload /tow haul option. 3.73 locking dif. rear axle.  11,500+  towing capacity. Perfect Camper towing optioned. Yet it has never had a hitch in the receiver until today!!!
 Plus it matches the rig!

 I had a somewhat delayed post surgical meeting with my doctor today.  He says I'm doing fine.  I think.  I don't understand doctors.  I might be going back to work tomorrow.  The doctor doesn't know.  He says he doesn't make that decision. "They" do.  No word about who "they" is.  So I dropped off all my paperwork on my park manager's desk this afternoon.  I hope she knows who "they" are.  Anyway,  she can argue about it with "them".

you are going to love not having to work the rest of your life.  i had planned on working until i was 62 or 65, but was talked into retiring by a friend last year (59 1/2) and it was the best thing i did in years.  the last 10 years i worked 72 hours one week and 80 the next.  i knew a sudden change in routine would screw with my system so i slowly slowed down to where i'm at now.

As a card carrying Luddite I applaud your decision.  Sometimes you just have to do things yourself.

Anyhoo...  I spent the day in the ranger station.  First day back at work and I'm bored already.  Mid week in July this place is always dead.  The combination of heat humidity, and swamp fugue, is totally mind numbing.  The insects are numerous and savage.  This time of year you won't find anyone except the local swamp crackers in the campground.  But the fishing is outstanding!

The heat and humidity have been to unpleasant to shoot.

Also signed up for Medicare Part B and got a medicare Supplement G and a drug plan.

Glad to hear Dan. All I’m doing is working & getting more tired. I’m on call this week. Hopefully, next week things start getting ‘better’... but this summer won’t relent, more customers are re-opening and the calls just keep piling up.
