I never had a problem with workers comp. NY is one of those states that they do whatever it takes to get you fixed, rehabbed and back to work. Went through 19 months out of work having 3 knee surgeries on comp and never a hitch or glitch.

The shoulder? Oh no, that one is standard insurance...and those idiots have screwed it up since surgery because some knucklehead listed things as No Fault in my case file so they stopped payments. It should be fixed after almost an hour and 3 different desk jockeys from Independent Health finally got made looking at everything to realize it's not and never has been, so now they're going through it all to finally get my service providers paid.

I won't even start on the mess the disability providers have made of things....

Installing Linux Tricia on an HP All In One we have on an old roll top desk in the spare room.
This is an older PC but it's had some upgrades including a 750gb HD.
I picked it up from a co-worker some time back for $100.
So far, so good.... I'm using it right now.
My intention is to connect the printer to it for targets and other airgun related stuff.

LOL..... most amazing thing is that I remembered my GTA login password. It's set to auto login on my laptop and work PC.

 I laid around all day, got out for a bit and did some shooting....with my cameras. haven't shot a pellet rifle or pistol now in almost a month. Sitting here now looking at a bunch of wood , plastic, and metal I hardly shoot any more. LOL. I'll get into it again. Just not right now.

I took drugs.  I'm down to just ibuprofen and naproxen sodium now.  I hate opiates because they make me nauseous and they steal so much of your life when you just sit around stoned on morphine.  Still moving slowly as my shoulder heals though.  Some days are better than others.

I'm about half ways through the list of cuss words in my vocabulary.
My 2011 Dodge Nitro has been giving me fits. It began a couple months ago when the serpentine belt broke. That's when I found out id didn't brake... the water pump went bad and spit it off.
Replaced the water pump and belt and the gauge still went to hot. So I replaced the thermostat. Still went hot. Turned out the temp sensor got water in it and threw bad signals. So I replaced that.
Things were good for a few weeks then it started getting hot again.
There is a small check valve in the thermostat that is supposed to be at 12:00 oclock. I wasn't sure if the kid that put it in positioned it right. Yesterday I drained the coolant to check it (the thermostat in a Dodge 3.7 is located on the lower radiator hose housing. Only about a qt. of fluid came out of the drain plug but the overflow was full. So, I attempted to fill the radiator and coolant ran out on the ground.
Busted radiator... split right down the side.
I got online and ordered a radiator to be here on Thursday. Then I went out and began tearing it down.
The battery, the coolant/washer box, the fan... all was going pretty good for an old one armed guy in was seems to be a sauna.... until I got to the lower hose clamp. That's went my body ran out of sweat. I'm one hose and 2 bolts away from getting the radiator out and I give up for today.... just too dang miserable out there.
A couple cold beers and I'll go out there and pick tools up until tomorrow morning.
I really hate working on cars and trucks.

Finished putting stuff up in the attic from the garage. The garage is neat, but not how I want it. At least the airgun side and everything else is accessible. Got the wife’s car in the garage. I’ll go through it all one box at a time, when I have the time. After Church, had way too much lunch. Took a nap and when I woke up it was pouring rain. Now it’s a sauna here too. Got small group at 1800, so I think I’ll just take a shower. The office screwed up my plans for work tomorrow, so I won’t be leaving early. I think I’ll shoot a little when the sun comes up again.

I sympathize with you Bill.  I watched my trusty 93 Ford Ranger leave yesterday on a flatbed.  I watched my dreams of a PCP this year drive off with it.  Now I've got a car payment, a bigger insurance premium, and a newer Ford Ranger.  Course I got a killer stereo and actual working air conditioning in the new ride though.  So I installed the Leer bedliner from the old truck in the new one today. Or rather my wife did while I "consulted".  I guess Ford don't change the bed on these Rangers much.   I'm not much of a brand loyalist except for mid-seventies Japanese two stroke motorcycles, but these Rangers are like cockroaches.  You just can't kill them.

At least you found something that works though. I found out the hard way at the hospital years ago that morphine doesn't work at all for me. Over an hour later in agony they finally switched to something else that worked.

Speaking of Rangers I saw one drive by today that obviously had a v8 swapped in it. I'm not used to seeing small trucks that sound like full size ones. My uncle had a ranger with a 302 in it but a part of the distributor fell into the engine while running a few years ago and grenaded it.

One day I'd like to have that Nitro about 12" higher with 32" swampers on it and a V8 in it. Roll bars, roof rack, snorkeled, wince and LED lights.
Maybe even a 360* shooting bench on top....

Bill, those 3.7 V6 engines are great work-horses when they work.  You've run into one of the few problems they had, and it's more a radiator-built-cheap problem than a weak-engine-design.  I have mountains of data plus personal experience showing just how solid they are, and you'd be surprised at how well that 3.7 will turn some 33" tires.  The ex got my Dakota; I miss it way more than I miss her.


Saturday, I headed to Cape Charles Beach out on the Eastern Shore with Sonja and the boys.  We had a great time, played in the water, ate some great street-tacos at a food truck, and enjoyed each other's company.  On the way back, my ex-father-in-law called and we chatted a bit.  We still have a great relationship and he's been working on stuff on the divorce.  As soon as he got off the phone, Sonja looked at me and said it was pretty clear he was going out of his way to help me.

Yesterday was much more chill- some grocery shopping plus a trip to Lowe's to pick up 6 bags of rubber mulch.  We're building a new trap for backyard shooting.  We grilled some chicken and made some chopped-chicken tacos.  We've been looking at some minivans, too.  LOTS of just-off-lease stuff coming up for very reasonable prices, and power-everything with heated leather everything- perfect for the 2 of us doing some budget camping and shooting!

This morning I heard some racket outside and Rambo sounded the alarm. I went out to find the power company sub contract tree trimmers. I met them in the driveway, a great pair of Hispanic guys. There were 6 or 8 trees ranging from 3 to 12 inches in diameter with limbs posing potential threats to the power lines connected to our house. The one guy said they had to cut them back. I told him that I didn't care if they cut them down completely. And that's exactly what they did. They spent over an hour out there. Now waiting for the chipper crew to arrive.
They had to drive through the field to get here because that tree that feel Thursday night is still across the road. They said that was the city's problem. About 15 minutes ago I saw a city truck come up the road... hopefully they are here to clear the road.

Dogs barking up a storm... looked out front, then I saw the UPS guy.  He dropped off a bluetooth stereo I ordered from Crutchfield for the F-150. 

Ten minutes later, more barking, another truck.  Getting the septic tank pumped to check on some possible timing issue. 

Maybe my barrel, HUMA, and gauges will show up.

Yes..... well, they will. The chipper crew showed up at around 3:45. 5 guys. They worked 15 minutes and the boss drove up and told them it was quitting time. I talked to the crew leader and he said they would be back at 6:00 am. I told him I wanted to keep some of the bigger stuff for firewood. He was good with that. So I'll be out there in the morning and pick what I want. Most large logs are 4' <> lengths. That's good, my fire ring is 6' diameter made of 1/2" thick steel.

Those idjits cut every limb off a pine tree on the side facing the wires so now over a year later one side is still completely bare and the other side with limbs is now leaning from all the weight on that side. Looks ridiculous as all hades.

I slept for the first time in three days.  The recovery from this surgery is indeed painful!  Sleep deprivation is bad for marksmanship!  The physical therapist assures me that it gets better after about 6 weeks so I've only got 2 weeks to go.  I had big plans for today but I took pill and slept instead.  There's always tomorrow.

It will get easier Carter... just don't push it. I know more than a couple people that had to go for round 2 because they pushed it.... myself being one.
