The only water pump from the 40s I touched was on a 48 FORD. It may have taken only one or two wrenches to remove the thing. But the distributor (on the front of the motor) made it a bit more interesting. The picture below clearly shows the ignition wires routed to the front of the motor.
[Just a little history of the older Flatheads made by FORD. My first car was a '51 FORD 2-door Club Coupe.]

Yesterday after work Sonja and I went to check out some property... 7 acres with a small creek, 2 story farmhouse built in 1850s, 2 big pole barns...

... and not a single clear shooting lane despite the acreage! Smack dab between 3 homes preventing 3 directions of fire, and the 4th heading out over the local regional airport.

Barn shooting would offer a clear INDOORS 75 yard shot but there was some bad karma in that barn. Was once used by a "doggy daycare" hoarder and the stank of unhappy dawgz was pervasive. The house was "livable", if one is used to post-apocalyptic survival. Fat chance at that! It might be worth demolition and salvaging for the reclaimed lumber, but demo costs would be ridiculous. Well, the search continues!

Also reviewed some of the other PCP offerings. She's eyeballing the Daystate Wolverine and the BSA R10. Looks like she's hooked

Okay, I guess those are sort-of airgun-related, but since technically it did not involve shooting or tuning airguns, here it goes

If you are looking in that general area of Quinton then anything nice is going under contract fast. I've look at the satellite view when I see something interesting just to make sure it's not surrounded by homes in the "firing lane." Hopefully we can market our waterfront Florida home soon and get what we want back in Virginia as screwed up as the place is becoming.

bad weather changed my plans of a morning sail so i decided to rip all my cds so i can copy them to my phone. i've been at this all day and only got through 48 albums so far. at this rate it will take me 2 weeks to rip them all.

David if you gotta go that's a pretty good way to do it looking up at the flag. He went a lot better than others have.

Needed a jack so I bought one. The brake squealing returned so I used the new jack to lift the car then removed the pads and replaced them with performance ceramics. No squealing so far. Drove down country roads I've never been on before and saw some nice places on my way to get supplements from a store I've never been to before. A part of getting older that I don't like is needing more meds and supplements but at least I'm still here to get older. Mowed and got a pound of dust all over me again. Funnel spider the size of a silver dollar made it's messy new home around the front axle so I killed it with wasp spray. I was surprised it went along for the bumpy vibrating mower ride instead of hopping off.

Relocated squirrel #7 for the month to a small wooded area away from homes. Neighbors were not in favor of me shooting them in town so I started live trapping them on my front porch. So many squirrels still running around

Got a text from one of my guys today... his young son had a temp of 104 so he is taking him for testing.
I texted him back to just take care of his family... I got this.
So I unloaded 10 trucks of steel blanks and coils today. I assume I'll be doing it again tomorrow.

3:45pm I got a plea for help from Hoosier Momma.
Got home from work and changed my duds then went to the "Newly reopened" Golf course and grilled 40 Brats for the snack bar.
Now that the Gov-na is lifting the quarantine orders... she is swamped. Expecting 50 hours this week.

I cut my yard last night, all 4.5 acres. Started at 6:30 finished at 9:30. Then I was too tired, 1am getting to sleep, didn't sleep well. 4 hours....☹
Then up at 5:15, to the blueberry bushes then to trim the yard. One and a half tanks of gas later I'm through weed eating.
Just finished putting the plants back. Now coffee and a shower.

I just pulled a video from my trailcam today of me driving by with a load of limbs in my trailer. Tire and tube busted so had all hades driving through 2 towns trying to find a store that had a replacement but finally got one. Loaded up T posts and drove them to the shop then pounded one into the yard and mounted a motion sensor security light and trail cam on it so whatever walks through that trail I'll know what it is and the light coming on will spook them out of the yard if it's a hog. Had all hades getting the new trailcam setup to my account and working right too but finally got it taking pictures. Got a video of a hawk taking off from a brush pile with a mouse or something, along with vids of coyotes and neighborhood dogs marking the trail.

Waiting for the sun to come up. Need to clean my mower deck, put on sharp blades, pickup sticks, weed whack & mow... then get back to work on the garage. I really hope to get this shop setup finished by tomorrow night. I really miss shooting with my little airgun shooting partner! Have a barn meeting with a bunch of fellows tonight and I’m going to try to make it to Ch**ch in the morning, despite what I’m trying to get done.

First day of my 3 week shutdown at work and the list of things to do is long. If there wasn't enough already, the Nitro over heated yesterday so I need to dig into that. Next I need to fix a flat on the zero turn and get the mowing done. Then maybe I can get inside and start on the reorganizing of the indoor tinker bench.
