Another day in the penalty box. And this one really inhaled sharply through pursed lips. Messed up closing last night and got lectured by my micro managing supervisor. My fault totally, but a bad start to the day. Then I followed orders and closed the park entrance when we reached "capacity". That irritated a LOT of people. So who did they blame? Not the Governor. The unreasonable and just plain mean Ranger (me). Then my supervisor informed that I would need to work tomorrow because we are short handed. Not a big thing really but I'm tired and frustrated so it was a fitting end to a sorry day. Oh well tomorrow is Memorial Day so I will at least get some appreciation for being a former service member!

Well, training has been sporadic due to the current situation but training with a fellow gym member on striking and jiujitsu this morning.

Then its will be paint some columns on the house, shoot with my boys (yes, airguns, probably all the Crosman classics), cookout and finish the night with watching the Memorial Day Concert on PBS. The actor Gary Sinise hosts it every year and my wife always puts it on. Her Dad served a tour in Vietnam (1968-into 69) and was with the 82nd Airborne. She has a real respect for Veterans.

Packed up the Rv and ATVs and came home from the ATV park this morning. Got up early and got done before it got too hot and humid. We were home by 8:30am. It's always good to get home early and have the whole day to putter around home and get ready to go back to work.
Other than a thunder storm blowing up and bending a leg on one of the pop ups, we had another great weekend of mud and wet river runs. The campground was at near capacity but everyone did a good job of distancing.
The recent rains kept the dust to a minimum.

Got paint supplies and mixed some partial cans of flat white to get started on the ceiling. Micah (17) and Heather (14) are up there painting his room right this moment. Will get wall paint tomorrow when the paint store is open.

This IS airgun related.... I started to pump up 3 pcps. I replaced an o-ring in one (slow leak) and getting it pumped back up. It's 66 degrees, calm, overcast with slight drizzle. It's very peaceful out. Thinking about heading out and shooting some. Not sure what though. I'm really liking the ease of these puffer guns.

Went for a 52 mile dual sport ride on my 625 KTM. Dirt Bike with a license plate. All but 7 miles on dirt roads. Got to explore some of the area around where I live now.

Mowed, blowed, weed wacked and dug wet dirt full of roots to make the job harder so I could remove the roots then fill a hole in one yard, then went and mowed another yard. Both yards are rough terrain so that takes it's physical toll. Despite the clear sunny day the skeeters are bad due to all the rain but I managed to kill several. Helped my neighbor look for his two missing calves in his woods and mine but we didn't find them.

For the first time in my life I underwent surgery that was not conducted in an emergency room or inflicted by my own stupidity. I consider this a milestone in my life! Some day I may become a real adult. Hopefully no time soon.

I had Rotator cuff surgery today. Those of you who had this procedure Know what that is like. I'm feeling pretty beat up but the pain block is still working so It's not too bad yet. Thanks for all the advice and support folks!

It surprises me the surgery WASN'T preformed in an emergency room. Were was it preformed? Do they make house calls now? LOL
SERIOUSLY don't overdo, remember the 3rd day saying.... that it is the most painful on the third day. Glad you home. Enjoy your "vacation".

Day 3 of our ISO audit at work.
Today was Maintenance in the "Hot Seat".
This years auditor knows her SH-TUFF! Has held many hats including a Maintenance Manager in an Automotive plant. (same as Me for the last 20 years).
My Scheduled, Unscheduled, Preventative Maintenance was good. Spare Parts association to assets and Min / Max followed by cycle counts helped.
All told I think I did well, might get an observation for "Predictive Maintenance" but I tap-danced around that. (thank you covid-19)
Closing meeting tomorrow... Better not get a Minor and sure as HECK no Major non-conformance... I HATE that paperwork!

Repaired another lawn toy, the riding mower needed a new carb on it. I was going to rebuild it but found one on Ebay for $18 in stead of $126 on E-replacement. Being a Briggs&Straton engine the fix was easy and quick. Replaced fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, fuel lines, and added a fuel shut off valve on it as well. Runs like new again. Beats buying a new $1500 lawn mower.

Tell me about it....
My crane operator told me that today was his birthday and requested a vacation day. I granted his request and covered him because I don't have a backup for him yet.
I unloaded 10 steel coils and a sheet steel truck today. The time went fast and it felt good to keep my skills sharp.
I was hot as heck though.

Got groceries then dug weeds out of landscaping, trimmed trees, mowed and sprayed a bunch of black dirt daubers that had a nest inside my patio ceiling fan then put out a big rat glue trap to catch the rest of them. I've had those traps full of them in the past so yes it really works.
