I cut and split some fire wood today. It was a nice day for it, as the temps were around 46 F. midday with a low of 28F tonight.I'll be cutting and splitting some more tomorrow. I haven't been able to go to the gym, so this was great exercise for a guy my age. (70 now and 71 in August)Best Wishes - Tom
Brings back memories. When we built our house I had a fireplace put in. It has 9 ton of stone from Crabapple mountain Tennessee which covers the entire end wall in our den. Long story short....I had breathing difficulties every winter and about 10 years later found that I was allergic to smoke. Before that every year we would cut two cords of oak firewood for each family. I would split some by hand but mostly with a splinter that ran off the tractor's hydraulics. My father, his brother, my uncle and myself would cut, split and haul wood to each of our houses. Good memories, I love my two Husqvarna chainsaws.
Mac...this spring a guy put out an old Riverside by the road that I drive by every day on the commute to work.It is KILLING me to drive past twice a day.
Nice pictures. Sweet bikes. My best friend rode a Commando Interstate back in the eighties. He was racing AHMRA and got me interested. I was already canyon racing so it was an easy move. I rode an R75/5 for a year before switching to 600cc box stock. Good times. I'm looking for a jap tiddler to restore now. Ideally a 305 Super Dream like the one Elvis rode in "Roughneck". My favorite Elvis movie. The king rides the wall of death! But a nice old R4 or an RD would do. I'm up to my armpits in a 74 VW type 181 right now. My second one. I must be crazy.
