Recover and get back to shooting Dan. Tooth pain isn't pleasant. I broke a tooth many years ago in my sleep. Woke up spitting pieces out. I think I went 9 months before I had it pulled. Had good days and bad days.

Mowed the campground and the helicopter pad.  Went and bought 40 gallons of non ethanol gas for the airboat.  Took the bush hog off and put the box blade on the tractor in preparation for grading the campground road tomorrow.  Started pressure washing the curbs at the parking lot.  Essential duties for an essential employee!

After the clouds from the rains last night cleared away, I took my two grandsons (ages 10 yrs. and 7 yrs.) for an hour long bicycle ride in and around the park.  When we were back home, and I had finished adjusting the younger one's bicycle, he asked if I would take him bicycle riding again?  When I was a child, grandfathers didn't ride bicycles - so, I never got to bicycle ride with either of my grandfathers.  For me, today is a special page in my memory book.

And Kris I thought I had it bad, I was out, twilight I've heard it called, I could feel someone holding my head, and the jerking of my head, I experienced something similar to pain or major discomfort during the 20 minute procedure. It is hard to explain. I can't imagine being awake for 45 minutes through that with just a local anesthetic.

This morning my jaw feels like I've been kicked my a mule. It's still swollen,  the jaw is sore but at least when I bite down tears don't come to my eyes in pain.

I had noticed during long shooting sessions (200-400 pellets) with magnum springers my tooth would ache. I also knew that this tooth was in bad shape but like Carter I dreaded going to the doctor to have I taken care of.

I'm thinking my Monday's 200 rounds across the chronograph testing pellets in my Ruger Air Hawk with and without breech seal shim might have brought on this episode. 

I'll post the results later. In case your wondering,  I had a 20-40 fps increase in average velocity with the shim.

If they give you antibiotics make sure you take probiotics everyday, some good ones so you don't end up with c diff intestinal infection like I did last tooth tooth infection I had. I feel your pain. I lost 40lbs real quick with c diff but I don't recommend that method of weight be loss.

Robert that sounds similar to my story.  I broke the back off that tooth at least 9 months ago and kept putting off going to the dentist.  It developed a cavity in the back under the gum line. I was okay until food particles managed to make their way into the cavity. It was very difficult to get the food out.  The break left a razor sharp edge which would slice the floss into. I wish now I hadn't waited.

Dan, I have spent a total of 12 hours in a chair with a local for extraction, root canal, then implant, and crown, in 3 4 four sessions. I have 2 crowns one porcelain and one titanium, one titanium implant, one partial(nesbit). Pain, what is that, I live with pain everyday and this is nothing compared to what the rest of my body deals with on a daily basis. I know what you are going through but it will bet better in a few days, before ya know it you'll back to chewing your favorite food.

Finished damage assessment, nothing to clean up, back to original projects and hopefully with out anymore interruptions from the weather for a day or 2.

I'm sorry Kris I didn't realize you lived in pain. That make me feel cowardly even mentioning  my temporary pain.

Dan there is nothing to be sorry about my condition, I was born with it and it reared it's ugly head when I when I came of age the second time, also it's normal to express displeasure of pain so don't feel that way. We all handle pain in different ways.  Psoriatic Arthritis affects the tendons and ligaments, it's an inflammation of them which can lead joint problems. It is also an autoimmune disease as well. It causes all kinds of problems including severe pain. I have learned how to manage it without drugs or pain medicine. I use natural herbs and supplements. Watch what I eat and drink and lots of exercise. I have my good days and then there are days that somebody needs to pull the dirt over on me. I would give you my shoulder in a heart beat to let you cry on it but there is one problem, you over there-me over here.

I never thought I would ever suggest something like this but it worked for me.  I was at my wits end dealing with chronic pain.  I tried everything.  Fortunately I'm allergic to opiods.  They make me violently nauseous.  So that was not an option.  Then a Physician's Assistant suggested that I try meditation.  I'm not a yoga mat and latte kind of guy but I was ready to try anything.  Watched some video's, read some articles, talked to some granola munchers and gave it a try.  My first attempts were imperfect but successful enough to encourage me.  Now I can achieve pain relief 4 out of 5 times using meditation.  It is not perfect and it requires concentration and effort but it doesn't cost anything and it doesn't leave me groggy or constipated!

I remember So Cal heatwaves back in the eighties.  People sleeping in the parks and on balconies.  I had an old apartment in Hollywood in those days.  No A/C but the building was so well designed that it wasn't really that bad.  Well I got up really early this morning and I snuck back to the secret fishing hole.  I've been checking this spot for the last couple of days and I've seen bass rising to feed every time.  No subtlety, just worms and a bobber.  In an hour I caught 7 bream and 1 bass.  I'm not a big eater of bream but that's what momma wants for dinner.  I'm thawing some catfish for me.

Bream, pronounced "brim" is a southernism that covers most members of the panfish family.  These were a mix of bluegills and yellow bellied sunfish

Did a 30 to 35 mile dual sport ride on my new to me 03 KTM 625. All but about 12 miles was on the dirt roads around where I live. First ride I've done in over 6 months.

Sampled the latest batch of beer a friend brews.  This one was using coffee. At 5% ethanol it encourages one to take a nap after a couple of bottles. Coconut beer coming in a couple of weeks.

I turned a bowl on the lathe some time ago but never got around to finishing it.  I applied natural Danish oil and wax for a finish.  I had planned to do some pyrography around the rim but I just didn't get to it.  I can do it later when I come up with a design that I like.  Wood is a curly maple.

Nice bowl Brett, the grain really came out in that one. I often wondered what Madrone would look like turned. I was in Oregon years ago around Cave Junction and was fascinated by it's bark. It wasn't hard to find it along the road. It's leaves look similar to the Rhododendron of the Carolinas. I love woodturing and pyography, best stress reliever for me.

Madrone is beautiful but a very hard wood.  It dulls tools fast.  I turned a banjo pot out of Madrone and veneered it with quarter sawn sycamore.
