Those look great Cory. My dad made his own flys when I was real young, I remember when I  was about 6 years old standing by the bench watching him.  I took up salt water fishing and by the time I was 10 I  don't remember him ever fly fishing again.

 I started tying fly's before I even new how to fly fish through project healing waters. Then I took up fly fishing and stuck with it so far. Hope to get my grandson involved when he gets a little older...

Thats a nice looking mayfly, and is that some kind of Wooly bugger?  I tie caddis, woolies, shrimp and crabs as my main flys.  don't need much else down here.

It's an articulated leach pattern for the big rainbows up here. I tie lots and lots of patterns up here, more for enjoyment than for the fish, but they all seem to catch fish. Its almost as therapeutic as shooting the airguns...

So far I got my lawn edger running after a few years of being dead.  I really don’t know what the original issue was that caused it to stop running but I suspect that maybe the fuel was bad.  I found nothing else wrong with it so I put it back together and filled it up and after many pulls, it started to pop.  Then, it started to run then shut down.  Now it runs continually.  So happy!

I looked at the tiller that stopped moving and I’m going to have to take the tranny apart to see what I can find out.  I set that aside for a later time. 

I moved over to the blower and replaced the fuel lines and cleaned it up.  Starts and runs like a champ now.  I think the carburetor was loose and was causing an air leak so the air/fuel mixture was off causing it to run rough.   

I will check over the line trimmer and see if I should address any parts/issues with it.  It sure is nice feeling to go through these things and get them tuned up for the upcoming lawn care season. 

Last night I changed the oil in the push mower, brushed and gapped the plug and sharpened the blades.  I mowed a small section to test it out.  Now it’s ready to go!!!

You do more in a day than I do in a year.

Ha ha ha!  If I didn’t have to I probably wouldn’t.  I’m too poor to pay someone else to do it for me.  I’m not real picky but I usually end up NOT being satisfied with other people’s work so I end up having to do it myself.  I’m usually not satisfied with my work either but I’m not paying myself to do a bad job like I would feel paying someone else.  Ha ha ha!  It’s a viscous cycle.

That's why I got rid of the crew I had mowing and trimming the yard because they tore up a lot of grass and other things being in such a hurry. It's a lot of work for me more than before since I cleared out a jungle section of my back yard that I have to also maintain now but it's worth the effort because the place looks better than ever without anything being tore up anymore.

Burned a huge pile of leaves and limbs, did a lot of weed eating and vine pulling off trees, plus I cleared out some more landscaping and blew my back patio and shop clean. My body is so looking forward to my day of rest tomorrow.

So yesterday evening I decided to start tearing into my tiller.  The tranny is sandwiched in between two clamshell type stamped steel that also makes up the frame to which everything else is attached.  I found out that it’s a tough job to get many of the nuts and bolts off since they are beat up, caked in rust and dirt that makes them very difficult to remove.  I brushed and knocked as much junk off as I could and now many of those nuts and bolts are soaked with Blaster penetrating spray.  Gonna give it a whirl again tomorrow to see if I can get it stripped down so I can separate the two halves and have a looksy inside. 

Today I was a chauffeur for a bit before coming into work.  Church services have been suspended so it’s like getting an extra day off for the weekend.  I’m bummed no services but I’m excited to have a free morning to just chill at home with my peeps.  Be well everyone!

Snaked a clogged shower drain...

It started with the kitchen sink bubbling at us like the vent was clogged. Of course, the sink doesn't run that much water, so I was surprised it couldn't vent "downstream" at the main stack vent. Then again, that is 25 feet away in a 2" pipe that may not be pitched nor supported properly...

Anyway, then the shower that joins this 2" pipe a few feet from the stack backed up. Well, I figured I had a clue where to start. I managed to get into the shower drain from the closet access point. I was fortunate that it was a tub/shower instead of a dedicated shower, as all I had to do was take the tub drain plug assembly out and work from that section.

Once I got the snake around the trap (1.5" pipe, I think), I could push and twist, etc. But then I managed to make a mess: not sure that I was getting through yet, I ran a bunch of water down the kitchen sink drain. Well, that is the highest point, and no, I wasn't clear yet--the gross water backed up into the tub and even the washroom beyond the kitchen on that 2" line.

So, working again with a pipe full of water, I pushed and twisted until I finally got through and the back-up drained away.

Now the shower runs really well and even the kitchen sink sounds good. We'll see if the clothes washer can still make the kitchen sink make bubbling noises. The slow drain was probably backing up and blocking an improperly vented sink drain--something else to fix someday. That 2" line probably needs looked at--it was old new work done on the house by a previous owner. I haven't measured it, but there is no way it is pitched 1/4" per foot or even 1/8" in my crawl space. Fixing it will mean tearing up the last of the 4" cast iron pipe under the toilet and at the bottom of the stack vent just to get maybe another foot of drop.

When I bought my house someone threw a hula hoop in the tree. We decided to keep it as part of characteristic.. Well the wind blew it down a few weeks ago. So climbed the ladder and put it back, where it should stay now, Until that branch breaks.

And vacuumed most of the front lawn. Because all the plows, and trucks hitting the shoulder, tossing gravel on my lawn.

Province limit 5 people at a time in buildings. So not sure if I want to wait in line ups for paint.

Called the LGS for status of my PB order last week.
 Told a big delivery came today as expected... but so many they had not checked them all in. At this point they did not know yet if my rifle was one of them.
Tomorrow I will try again.

I mowed about three acres of the five, I'll mow the other two tomorrow if it doesn't rain. It rained this morning but then a breeze came up and dried it out pretty good.

Me too Dan and I almost got the mower stuck. My neighbor did get his stuck. haha

Put down poison for grass and weeds in my landscaping now that all of it was cleared out so hopefully none will grow back anytime soon. Picked up what felt like a million rotted pieces of old matting from there too. Used the chain saw to level some stumps and cut saplings in what used to be a jungle in my back yard so they're no trip hazard and are easy to mow over now. Cleared brush from the fence, pulled more vines off trees, and after mowing I raised the mower with the tractor them cleaned out the deck debris with a chisel since some of the yard was damp. Had a crew clean out my hvac ducts and a plumber fix a busted line. Great productive day.

Went to work all day and played there.  Came home and worked on disassembling the tiller.  I was able to get it taken down to just the frame that houses the transmission.  I'll degrease and clean it up tomorrow to open the tranny and see what's going on inside.  It's slow but I'm making progress.

Yesterday I got the rest of the mowing done, and I think I overestimated how much I got done Monday. When I mow I wish the five acres was flat. The hills are a pain to mow and take a lot more time than if it was flat. I had to put chevron tread tires on it so it would climb the hills instead of just spin. It's weeds so I cut as short as I can.
