Those are neat Scott, one of my doctor offices had 2 200 gal tanks in it full of tangs and wrasses. I would rather watch the fish than read a magazine or stare at the cell phone. It's tough keeping a tank around here without a battery backup system. The power goes out more now  than before the storm.

Finished up making the shelves for the cabinet (6 total 8’x2’).  Next is clear the space where its going and hang the shelves.  Then build the cabinet around them and paint the outside.

Close Robert, They are Frontosa, an African Cichlid, from Lake Tanganyika.
 Flowerhorns are a man made species for aquariums that are found nowhere in the wild.
  Supposedly mine are F1's meaning they are first generation tank raised from wild caught fish.

Just about done taking down trees.  I cleared up some deadfall, mulched all the sticks and leaves from the trees I dropped, started prepping for putting down more pavers (got about 50 down ATM) and started pricing out materials for the small shed.  I think I may take two more small gum trees down- little 5" diameter spaghetti barely 40 feet tall with just about ZERO canopy.  I cannot stand when homeowners let trees get out of control!

I have some electrical stuff to chase down for some lights out front that refuse to turn on, and I want to run a 20 AMP line out from the box through the crawl to out back.  I may not own this place but I intend to LIVE here, not just exist.  Gravel-patio with some pavers for a grill, smoker, and portable canopy, dry out the mud, and set up a plinking lane.  I can go wayyyyyy out there- easily couple hundred yards without any concerns for hitting anything, so I'm pretty happy.  Dunno how bad ticks may be.  Not seeing many squirrels at all, no signs of chippers, no mouse trails or droppings.  And best of all, I can see an occupied hawk nest and I hear owls nightly.


The birds have discovered the feeders, though there's a small flock of grackles that swung by.  Protected species, otherwise they'd be gone via PP700 surgical "extraction"...  I chased them out a few times and they seem to get the hint.  Only seeing a few Carolina wrens, some black-capped chickadees, a pair of bluebirds, some Blue Jays, woodpeckers, and of course, Cardinals.  No Orioles or yellow chickadees, but one can hope!

Stuck in the penalty box again.  My torn up shoulder is aching and the rest of the team is working on heavy stuff so I have to sit today out.  I will however get to meet a lot of nice snowbirds and hopefully I can help them have a great time at my park!

Had the septic tank pumped and found out it needs to be replaced. OH JOY!!!! there goes about $2K if I'm lucky.

Speak for yourself...lol. I live north of Buffalo and the highest temp we've had since I got the Nemesis was 42 so I can't even take it out to play.

Well I may be wrong, but I guarantee you she is right


I moved some stuff around outside after taking 2 more dang gum trees down.  Hopefully I am done.  Both trees were nearly devoid of branches but they weren't rotting, so my guess is overcrowding and fighting for overhead space took a toll.  I may thin things out more, but for now, I'm pretty happy.  Hung up a mount for the hose, found some yellow ABS tubing that works nicely as a gutter drain extension to further direct rainfall from the footer.  I broke out the adze and hacked up some half-exposed roots for good measure, then found 2 more basketballs, 2 footballs, and a beat-to-snot soccer ball in the run-off headed to the creek.  I've found enough in the drainage for a JV team no matter what they play!  Lemme tell ya, if I left a football or basketball outside and lost it, I woulda been worried about way more than replacing it.  My father was especially adamant about not losing things like that.

And shortly I'll be looking at trucks.  I think I need a full-size single-cab.  It's just me now so don't need a quad-mega-superduper-ultra cab.

Got the quote for replacing the septic tank. $4400! I guess the $2k was a little optimistic. lol
