For that matter, where were you on 9/11/2001?

Me and a buddy skipped class and went to Burger King. While at Burger King, everybody was glued to the TV, was showing the plane striking the 1st tower. We were stocked. I joined the Canadian Forces reserves, several months prior ( graduated basic before highschool ) We ran back to school and nobody had a clue.

I was driving into work.  It was a beautiful sunny morning.  I heard it on the radio.  When I arrived at work there was a television on the counter at the tool room.  It was unbelievable.  We went out and transferred a pole that day.  I was in a strange sort of dis-belief all day long. I had separated from the military less than 10 years earlier after the first Gulf war.

Got up.  Drove to Seattle.  Went for a run.  Showered and got dressed for work.  Went out and did my job. Met my wife and daughter at a coffee shop on the way home.  Stopped and picked up a couple pizzas.  Ate dinner.  Hung with my people.  Read.  Went to bed. 

Got up this morning.  Drove to Seattle.  Went for a run.  Showered and got dressed for work.  Gonna head out and do my job soon.

About 9/11 I was enraged watching the news seeing all those pukes celebrating the attack and was wishing the sky filled with our bombers flying in formations to carpet bomb them until nothing was left but dirt and craters and I still feel the same way. I will never forget seeing those innocents aka "Little Eichmanns" as some pukes call them who jumped out of the towers to their deaths, or all the 1st responders who have suffered illnesses from going on scene to help people which are still dying all these years later from their toxic exposure to it.

Went out to the woods to move my deer blind back into the pole barn. -5F chill factor with wind gusts to 30.  Lots of water in the woods and moving so it didn't freeze and made walking difficult.

I did the normal 7:30 to 4 day-job of software support, then at 4 called a co-worker and we talked about some momentous changes in our company and a likely move to central FL for me.  After our chat, I headed out to continue my never-ending war on leaves.  Body is sore from yard-work and not sleeping much since Friday when we got news a company wants to buy us out (actually much more detailed but I'm keeping it simple)…

We ate leftovers; 7-11 pizza  and a Siggi's Icelandic yogurt/skyr for me and fish-sticks for her.  I drank some Bribon Reposado tequila while she finished off the Disaronno and we talked about Important Stuff - mainly Netflix, electric cars, and our silly dogs.

Then SWMBO headed to bed so I took a real honest-to-gosh bath and read through the official documentation for the sale of the company; we're employee owned and I'm vested.  I prolly won't be able to relax much for the next week or two- brain going a lot of different directions and I cannot wipe the smile off my face.

At least temps finally dipped below freezing after a rain so I can move the "chunks" of leaves easier.  Piles got so big I now have to load 'em onto a tarp and drag them.

My leaves are just wet and heavy after a rain... not helpful even with my friend's blowers.

We did see some snow recently.   Just enough to see it collect on the leaves I haven't raked/blown away.

     Yesterday I gave away a new BB gun for a friend of mines boys to shoot, and a pink Daisy model 35 to her daughter to shoot. I gave them a pellet gun last year and she was telling me how much the kids liked it. So I thought I would give them a couple more so they could all shoot one with out havng to share only one. I included 2000 BB's and 500 CHP's with it so hey could have them, to use right away Christmas day.

Been soo wanting to goto the range, But day 3 of the contractors. Got all my windows in, one has condensation on it like crazy.. So that's being looked into. 2 of the 9 windows, got trim installed.

My cats are not happy, they are locked in the basement, dogs were locked in the office for 2 days, now locked in the kennel. Sounds like a Trex farm in there.

DO a Canadian need to teach you a thing or two about winter? Carry a lighter with you in the winter. Use it to heat the key up. Or have bottles of lock deicer, which is mainly just 99% isopropyl alcohol, with some oil.

Worst car I had for winter was my 96 VW Passat. The lock seals never really sealed. No water would get in all the time. So winter, you go to unlock, and had a lever you pulled like a bicycle brake. To open, those always snapped. I sent 6 back to the parts place.

I learned about Winter locks on snowboarding trips up in Donner Pass (Sugar Bowl, Boreal)- drove nothing but air-cooled VWs at the time.  I just left the car unlocked- and the butterfly (vent) windows un-latched.  I could push in and brute force the door open.  Granted, driving air-cooled in the Winter made the first ten minutes painful, and my main ride was a Baja bug with exposed carbs, so when I say carburetor icing was a thing, believe me!


My neighbor and his kids moved all my leaves, so I spent some time early this morning helping him load up his trailer with his old siding- clean aluminum siding at that- so he can take it to recycling.  Gonna be a small windfall for him, but if we (my company) can move forward with the sale, I think I may hook him up for Christmas.  You literally could not ask for better neighbors.

Got up, got dressed, kicked the heat up 3 notches, turned on some Christmas lights and others, got some coffee going for lattes, made lattes, sat with Michele, read the bible, surfed airgun forums.  Now I’m procrastinating about getting started on the day.  It’s a birthday today.  Amy turns 19.  I think we are going bowling later.  I’ll be lucky if I can break 100!  Ha ha ha!   I stink at bowling.

Why were you keeping a bottle of OJ, a 6pk of eggs, and wine shooters in the bathroom, and you didn't mention that part.  SICK
