We worked together around the house, without fighting. Well there was some fighting, just not human fighting. My youngest dog got into a scuffle with his 180# lb dog. Then the neighbor let his dog roam free, and he went into dad yard and after my dog again.

Thanks, I haven't seen my step mother, and my father dog since 2013. So it was also nice to see them. Yeah it appears pops is losing strength in his arm. He was having troubles, with starting the push mower. He just couldn't pull it fast enough to start it.

I'm taking a trip down memory lane on YouTube music.  Worked through a bunch of house, now shifting my way through NewBeat as I jot down some random thoughts for stories.  Earlier I had to take an after-hours "emergency" support call while driving.  Ate some dinner, pumped some gas, and did some push-ups.  Nothing too crazy.

That's good to know about the mulberry wood. I just cut up a ginormous branch that fell and ended up getting a small pallet stacked up 2-3ft high with the stuff. I thought I could give it to someone who burns wood too.

I'll stick with Pecan for slow smoking and Hickory for shorter cooking times.   I have tried a lot of fruit woods for smoking, but nothing has ever satisfied me as much those 2.

Actually, I did get a squirrel today, but I've also just spent 3 hours tonight messing with tiny wires, big needles and a photodiode. A group here at the university has been wanting to "instrument" needles used in medical procedures. These things are huge--14 gauge (a little bigger than a regular pencil lead). Instrumentation includes a photodiode that detects light inside a cavity on their test apparatus/trainer.

The diode is tiny--about 1/16" long and 1/32" wide. They came to me some time ago wondering how to get it in the needle. Simple, I (now) say: use tiny wires soldered to the terminals and slip them in. The wires we eventually settled on are 36 gauge because it was almost the smallest stuff I had laying around. Needless to say, I do this work under a microscope, but I use a regular solder iron with a copper tip (sharpened, of course).
