Sam did the trespassing bastages get any of the LOEs ire as they should have instead of you? I hope they got fined so they won't pull that bs again. Park ranger says leave they should leave.

He said he was going to "write them some paper"  I figure that's cop speak for give them a ticket.

Today was round two.  I drove boats today but about 11:00 I heard sirens from the direction of the front gate.  Sure enough someone rolled their camper van at the bad intersection near the gate.  It caught fire and it had a propane tank onboard so LE closed the intersection.   We had to keep a ranger at the back gate to help confused visitors who were trying to find SOMEWAY into the park.  The beach was a total zoo as the first (and usually the worst) springbreakers have arrived.  I escaped to drive four boats.  I got to see the outcome of the big territorial gator fight we had last week.  The victor was apparently the young upstart (only11' long) who challenged our dominant gator Joe Jr.  Joe hasn't been seen in a few days and the upstart has usurped his sunbathing spot so it looks like the champ has lost his title.  The victor got a little chewed up in the exchange.  He's got a big chunk gouged out his tail.

Glad they got fined. Sounds like no shortage of idiots there. I admire your patience. I could never handle all those nitwits ruining beautiful peaceful nature like that. I'd have to be the private cat hired to kill hogs or some away from public job to enjoy being there.

After a few times of the local PD knocking on my door and my dad answering in his tighties I learnt to not get caught. It would get back round but the physical labor was far less extreme if he heard about it vs getting brought home.

He never spanked my 4th point of contact and it really set me straight. I know it hurt him more to spank me than to just make me do harder chores.

As a juvenile I got picked up along with my adult cousin with a bag of weed in his car.  The cops said I could go home if my parents would come get me.  My mom was out of town.  There was no way I was calling my Grandma.  The shame would have been too much.  So I bit the bullet and called my dad.  The cops could all hear my father's roars of laughter as I explained my predicament.  I could imagine the mischievous grin on my oldman's face as he explained that a night in the can would build character.  He'd come get me in the morning.  The cops let me sit on a hard plastic chair in the lobby til dawn and my dad had that grin I had imagined on his face when he picked me up.  He loved telling this story til the day he died.

Tell you one thing.  I ain't been back to jail since!

Confession time LOL, I was fortunate to have a big brother three years older I could watch, and learn how not to do things, and what not to do too. I stayed out of trouble mostly. I did get detained once which involved handcuffs and the back seat of the Police car. I got an apology from the Police Chief a few days later though because we had been given permission to go in the old abandoned school by an officer that just shouldn't have given us that advice or permission. Sure glad my friend remembered his car number, things could have gone very differently.

 Other than that I did drive like a maniac but on what were basically off road jeep trails and deserted roads. On the roads I watch out and was careful, knowing my mom and dad had eyes everywhere. My motivation was to not disappoint or shame my parents.

I managed to get all the Yee-Hah and Woo-Hoo out of my driving while I was in 20s.  I'm 53, soon 54, and my last ticket was equipment-related.  The Judge was tossing people in jail left and right for excessive speeds- I got a reduced ticket because the state trooper appreciated my honesty and courtesy.  !989 Accord Wagon 5-speed, small vacuum leak on the Cruise Control module giving false air- coming down a loooooooOOOOOoooong grade 7 miles this side of WV; 86 in a 65.  Could been reckless, dropped to "inability to maintain posted speed" and the trooper requested leniency.  I told the judge it was still my fault and he literally said, "You fix the vacuum leak?"  "Yessir, your honor"... He looked at the topper, the trooper nodded, and I had a paltry $53 fine when 4 p[eople in front of me got the "3 square meals and a cot" deal for similar speeding infractions. 
The trooper talked to me after the "sentencing" and stated the judge was a hard-arse, but he appreciated courtesy, respect, and integrity.  And was a retired Navy JAG officer.  One gal was dressed in clothing worthy of a night on the town, turned on the charm, and let the crocodile tears pour for 93 in the same 65 zone and she ended up with 180 days in jail- none of which were suspended- it was straight-up Monopoly >>> Go Directly to Jail.  The judge made a point of going over her record and it took him several minutes to review her prior speeding tickets. 

Today has been a sh**-storm at work.  VPN has been flip-flopping, a customer did exactly what we told them NOT to in writing and it wrecked their data conversion, my metnor and team lead has been dealing with inept IT that are in WAY over their head (he had to tell them how to fix his migration to Azure Active Directory), we're all shifting over to MFA (multi-factor authentication) and NOBODY wants to download work-0related apps on their phones- which is required.  One of my coworkers ditched his smart-phone 2 years ago and he's basically told the company "F Off" since our employment contracts when the company bought us out did not state we were required to have smart-phones.

I've basically looked at the GTA, did some yardwork, reshaped an axe handle for a recent Michigan axe acquisition, and simply enjoyed the gorgeous view from my "office" looking out the front yard where the almond tree is in full bloom.  Oh, and spent 3 hours in meetings listening to everybody gripe about MFA, the move to Azure, and our IT's general ineptitude.

Got picked up for being at the lake before it opened to fish along with my other 3 friends and a dog. Cop had to cram all of us, dog and all our fishing gear. Can you say packed ! Lol one of the guys dad came and picked us up and by that time it was almost time for the lake to open so he just took us back and dropped us off.

I have been stopped a few times by LE in the last 30 years.  When I did get stopped I never once flipped my badge out to identify myself as LE or former LE.   I always wanted to see how they conducted themselves.   Sadly, I was disappointed as often as not.  If I was guilty, I took the ticket with no whining.

I felt so rough this a.m. that I thought about calling in.  But driving boats is just about my favorite thing so I hauled my self to work.  The boss met me at the dock and told me my #2 had called in sick and I was THE boat captain today.  Well?  This is what I  love right?

Well now I'm whipped.  It was a fun day but I hope I don't have to do that again!  Fortunately the critters cooperated and the was beaucoup wildlife for the tourist to see.  On my last boat some fellows set up a big Ikegami video camera in the bow and made a video of the entire tour.  I expect to see it show up on the internet soon.

I started to clean up mostly my mess in the shed downstairs. Got a large bag of trash and cardboard to take into work to burn and put in the dumpster. Moved some things around and cleaned up some spills. Want to get this space a little more work shopy than pile of refusey.

I was going to take it easy today but the boss called me on my cell before I even got to work.  When I got there I hit the ground running and didn't slow down the whole day despite my best attempts to goof off.  Every time I'd get my feet up someone would get on the radio with a new crisis.  I went down to the beach to rest my eyes ( ) for a minute and got a call to go rescue some lost hikers.  After I got that squared away it was a dog running loose in the picnic area and so on and so forth for the rest of the day.

Still the best job in the world!

Round 2 of land clearing or invasive plant removal. The weather has been great in the mornings for this, plus the ground is dry so that makes even easier to get this mess up and shake the dirt out of the roots. I have an old fiberglass boat that somebody gave me with the intentions of restoring it for fishing, that didn't happen. So it will become a raised garden bed. I did this with my old jon boat and that has been great since the property floods in the summer and drowns anything in the ground. Plus I am tired of being slapped in the face when mowing or just walking around in the yard.
