Anyhow... lets get back to the Freedom for a bit....

I don't know if I mentioned this in a prior post but...
This is my first time owning or even shooting a side lever action PCP gun. I think I might be spoiled. I mean, this thing takes so little effort and is buttery smooth. I suppose I expected to feel the pressure of pulling back the hammer spring somewhat like a bolt action. But, it's nothing like that.
Even the Sumatra, with it's bottom lever action takes more effort... I realized that's a manual indexing rotary mag and all But, it's quite smooth and takes less effort than the Mrod and Urban.

Yes the side lever action is great, like you said easy and smooth. If it aint smooth something is wrong. I did have to dress the lead some as stock it was quite 'sharp'. Made things a lot smoother and less chance of scoring / scratching up the pellet.

I have been using the single shot tray mostly, I find it slows me down a little and I don't go through pellets / shots so quickly and it seems to be a little more accurate.

But if I am out pesting, yea I will use the magazines. Load of 4 of them and good to go

Yeah, slow leak is still there. Maybe 100 or so psi in a couple hours at 3500 psi.
Still not a deal breaker.
I have a feeling that this is why this one was returned. I have zero complaints about anything else with this gun.

This is my 22 Freedom with the Nikko Stiriling scope I picked up at the Ky gun company yesterday. I think it looks pretty good with the silver on the black.

I'm still waiting to get silicon oil to lube it before I go pumping up for shooting. The scope itself is a fairly hefty piece of optics but the guns not bad using the pump handle to carry. I plan on adding the legs you have on yours for rest shooting. I'm still trying to decide if I want to scope the 177 or not I bought two of the scopes just in case

I know this is going to bring out the comments but, I'm still using Secret Sauce in mine. So far, no ill effects at all.
It's all I've ever used in all of my PCP and pumper guns and they all work just fine.

It will probably be fine, however silicone oil is recommended by the manufacturer.

PCP guns don't tend to diesel as much as springers.

Have you tried a drop in the fill port yet?

I filled the small hole in the fill probe. It may have held a drop. I didn't wipe the excess off the probe before I put it in the gun. I put 4 drops in the pump arm breather hole which will make it's way through the gun and, most likely all orings will get some. I plan to repeat this every 300 to 500 shots or if the gun sits for a long period of time... just like the rest of my guns.

I imagine that if I was a regular guy getting into airguns, having mostly seen air rifles at Walmart and sporting good stores and not knowing that those $200 rifles aren't top of the line that I might think that a $400 airgun would be perfect in every way.
It would be a guy with that kind of mindset that would likely return a otherwise great airgun because it leaks.
I'm trying to be optimistic about my purchase, I hope that mine will just have a leak.

Hey guys

Several of you have mentioned that your gun drops off fast at a certain  pressure (about 1900psi).  This is by design, and not a defect.  The air tube is "PRE PRESSURIZED" to about 1750-1900 psi. The reason for this is to allow fewer pumps initially to get to 2000psi.  Should be about 8 or 10 pumps from 0-to 500 starting pressure to get to 2000 psi.

When you shoot down from 3000psi etc. to 2000psi. the volume of air left is VERY small, even though it is at 2000psi. Once you hit the "pre pressurized" limit, there is no VOLUME of air left, and the pressure drops off really fast.

A genesis design, in my opinion.  If the gun does not drop off at 1900psi.  it's a sign that you have lost your "pre pressure" in the air tube.  Only difference is it will take 25 - 30 pumps to go from  zero pressure to 2000psi., however, the gun will shoot down from 3000psi to zero just like any other gun. (slow drop with each shot)

Keeping the pressure above 2000-2100 psi (range) is the best solution. You don't get an accurate shot below the "pre pressurized" limit anyway and it saves you the 8-10 pumps to get back up to 2000.

Well, just a little confusing...
So, by degassing the gun there be no pressure in the gun, right? So it's safe to work on at this point? Then the gun will need charged from zero, correct?
The way I see it, if your hammer spring over powers your valve spring then your gun will empty. That's why you have to cock some guns before you can pump to build pressure.
So the point at which your gun empties depends on how heavy your hammer spring is unless the valve spring it heavier.

I dont know about "Pre pressurized" mine came bone dry empty. I dont know how many pumps it took to get up to 2,000 psi but it was a heck of a lot more than 8-10.

I think I pumped mine 50 or so times to get it to 3k when I first got it. It was also empty.

I had a dentist appt. in Troy this morning. I stopped at Harbor Freight after. I picked up one of these to keep all my mags, fill probes, assorted small tools and pellet samples for each caliber in.
It may get a bit heavy but the handle looks like it will take it.
Each caliber group gets a drawer. A drawer left for orings and compressor filters... or whatever.

My Freedom still hasn't shipped yet, I think it was less than a week for my Liberty, I did call and it hasn't shipped yet which explains why I haven't gotten a Fedex notification yet, I was worried that it might have gotten lost but it's not the case

That's not a bad idea. Can you fit pellet tins in the trays?

Pellet tins will not fit in the trays. They have separators that you can divide the sections up. You can put samples of pellets in each section, maybe half of a tin's worth. The lids close so pellets won't mix if it gets knocked over. Then use a dry erase to label each section. You can leave separators out to put longer probes and such in. One section in the .177 drawer will get the rear open sight or the red dot for the Freedom. Another for the fill probe and yet another for spare mags.
The .22 drawer will get the same for the Urban and the SPA Varment.
The .25 drawer will get Sam Yang stuff.
All three will get pellet samples and the fourth will get orings and compressor stuff. The top will get various small tools.
