Oh, my bad Harry. I meant to cover that in my first reply to you.
Once again, hard to distinguish the report from the Freedom and the Synrod.
Seriously, if not for the onboard pump system I would think I was shooting the Synrod.
It may be a bit quieter than my stock Urban.

I expect the chrono to be the most telling testing. I'm already anticipating, at least, some hammer spring work to up the shot count.
I've not even got far enough to determine the range of adjustment.
Heck, even the trigger has three separate adjustment screws.
And a burst disc on a pumper? Degas with an allen wrench? Who does that?

Got two Freedoms, one had a dinged up breech but holds air and pumps well, the other will not even pump up.
Here is a string I shot last weekend and only got this string, as batteries were dying on the chrony. (I was really testing my .30 Marauder build and gave this gun little attention) Pumped it up to 3600, which was a mistake. As you can see, the curve really started on shot 9 or around 2900 psi. I did not do any adjustments on the hammer spring though. Will be interested to see what you find out Bill!

While checking accuracy, I ran out of windage and the poi was still way left, so there may be something going on with the barrel....or the scope. Will investigate this weekend. I will say, it was super accurate, one hole on many of the shots.
Still haven't tried to fix the second Freedom yet, want to get the shooter dialed in first.
Despite the issues, still stoked on the purchase. I concur with all of Bill's positive comments

Haven't gotten a Fedex shipping notice yet but I ordered it at 9:15am yesterday, probably in a week or less I'd guess. I already have the non warranty Liberty and love it, that gun is shooting my cast 19.6 grain pellets with extreme accuracy. I'll never buy anymore JSB18.13's because I no longer need them, the only thing that I need are the tins

Mike, I'm assuming that is .177. Are both guns .177?
Could it be that the ding in the breech could be a sign that something knocked the breech out of line? The would explain the windage issue.

Good Morning Ya'll....
Hope ya'll had a better night than me. The pizza we had worked me all night.
Well, we got a slow leak. I filled it early yesterday evening before I put it in the gun cabinet and it's down to the top of the yellow on the gauge this morning. I figure that was about 12 hours. Quite possibly the reason the original owner returned it.
I think I'll continue to test it so I can get some baseline numbers before I dig into it. Then I can compare them to the results of my efforts.
I know the alcohol flush has been very successful in curing issues in many older pumpers but I don't know if a newer gun would benefit from it.
Ok, before anyone freaks out.. IT'S A PCP !!! DON'T PUT ALCOHOL IN ALL THAT PRESSURE !! lol.... I assure you, I don't have a death wish.

If it comes down to an attempt at an alcohol flush I would not put 3600 psi behind it. Maybe degas completely, put the alcohol in the breather hole and pump it up barely into the green and dry fire it off. Maybe repeat a few times depending on what comes out of the barrel.

Once again.... this is a preowned gun. Who know what the original owner did. Did he clean the gun right out of the box? Did he pump all the factory gunk into it. (It is a Chinese gun and the Chinese love their gunk). Did the original owner add his own "elixer" to it?

Here is something to think about.... The owner's manual tells you to put 6 drops of oil in the breather hole every 300 shots. That just sounds like alot to me. And it don't say what kind of oil.

So along comes little Ralphie with is spanky new airgun. He goes in the garage and finds a coffee can of oil in the corner from the last time dad did an oil change on his old Dodge truck. Ralphie dumps and ounce or 2 in the gun just before he shoots his eye out and Mom returns the gun to ATI. And wouldn't it be just like Ralphie to snatch the mags, fill probe and shot tray and hide them in his sock drawer before Mom sends the gun back?
I know... that's a stretch.

Morning Bill,
What you said about what previous owners may have done got me thinking. We have no idea what they did before they returned to ATI for a new gun. How about holding onto the probe and mags so when they get the new gun they have spares. After checking closer it appears my sightless 177 had a scope installed and removed. I think I will give both guns a complete going over before I take out to put pellets on paper.

'Zactly Guy.... lots of scenarios possible.
Parts could be taken from returned guns by ATI to send to customers claiming theirs were missing.
Spare parts from China take a long time to get to the US.

Next phase plan.....

I'm gonna look around here for a donor scope. It'll just be temporary for accuracy and pellet of choice selection.
Then I'll dig the chrono out of the mothballs and get it ready to go.
We'll establish some baselines before we dig in.
Hopefully I'll stumble across those bipod legs in the process.

Off to the showers.

Looked around again for those dang legs. It was eating my lunch so I jumped on Ebay and ordered another set. If the others show up it's no biggie. The Firecat uses the same legs.
These work great on break barrels and pumpers. They extend and flip forward or backward and lock in tight. Just a turn of a finger screw puts them on or takes them off. They are not cheap plastic.... all metal.
The 1" picatinny rails can also be used for attachments, like a flashlight.
