Well, I got the old poppet valve out and installed the new one before I got way too hot to keep working. The cocking mechanism is a real PITA to get out of the way so you can remove the hammer. Now I need to get the pin back thru the sear that's in the receiver but I'm thinking of using a sewing needle to line it up so I can install the pin. After that it won't take long at all and she'll be sending pellets down range. I've got to say that that valve will move a whole heck of a lot more air than the original. Think I need to buy one of thous steel replacement power adj that don't adj anymore. so it can be drilled out as large as the barrel and the valve.

It's funny I haven't test that new design on my 22 liberty. I was originally making it for .177 but I know all dimensions are way bigger than the OEM valve. The only thing the OEM valve may have a better advantage is the wide trench cut across the exhaust port. Let me know how it performs cause I haven't a clue as much as I want to test it but no time now since my liberty is still all apart

Text me directly if ya need. The stem is Soo long ya need to cock the hammer while filling, then follow instructions in the note.

Yeah, I figured that out and it worked. I figured the extra shim I installed on the hammer spring wasn't letting it close so using the 1377 trick of cocking the pistol before pumping it up. IT WORKED!!!!!! I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but it is a lot louder!

I just hand pumped it up to 3400 psi so we'll see in 4 hours. Yeah I have a compressor but I figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone. My doc told me yesterday to try and get more exercise, enough to get me sweating so I know hand pumping will do that everytime. I mean after all ya gotta manage your time and being retarded er retired......

Hey Ray, iam still working hard on your .177 brother. You need to send me your guns often because seems like whenever you send it, I get to go on vacation soon after. This time will be out to California, but I'll wrap up before that and send it your way.

Robert, if it sounds louder it can send something faster. I need ya to record it man. Give me some data shooting single pellet and double pellets. To simulate heavy slugs that Stephen is making 😜

I have the full range of Stephens slugs already and have some H&N sniper mags and some rabbits coming from FS so I'll be giving a full spectrum of vel and accuracies. I did a before new valve shot string with CPHP's to have something to compare. 14.3 up to 26 gr. Duy, where are you going in Cali?

So you'll be about a 100 miles from me. So what are you trying to do, kill me off?

The pressure because of the heat actually went up a 100 psi so I guess I did assemble the rifle right. WEEHUU!!

A 20 degree rise in temp will cause the pressure to go up 100 psi or so. Reverse can happen after a fill, where the action of pumping and compressing HP air creates heat, then later cools to ambient temp.

The humidity where I live is rarely above the mid teens and most time in single dig. Most everything expands when heated and contracts when cooled except water never contacts. When I filled my rifle it was in the low 80's but when I checked the pressure later in was in the high 90's.

Well, I ,managed to do a couple of shot strings. The first one was with CPHP 14.3. I started out at around 3600 psi and was getting around the high 800's until I hit about 3000 and then then holy moly, I thought it was going ballistic as in break the sound barrier.

the 356 is when my home made LDC went wonky. This rifle dropped pressure like you wouldn't believe after it got down into the low 2000s. Oh and as far as kick this rifle has some serious kick now.

Great you got things sorted out and shooting smooth. I bet you were to blame with the ch errors, because you were freaking out about what the rifle was doing

I'm actually going to remove the shim on the hammer and turn the reg back to stock or maybe lower. The hammer is definitely too light but will wait to see what going back to stock will do as right now it's a air hog.
