Clamping it to your shirt is mandatory...  just as shooting your chronograph is also mandatory.  You are not a “real” air gunner unless you have done both.

Hooray!  I'm a real airgunner!

This is sort of like you're not a real welder unless you have slag drop into your boot on the one day you wear no-see-um socks, or you're not really a construction worker until your toolbelt is stolen, you miss a nail and hit your thumb, and you get 2 flat tires at one construction site- all in the same day.

In all seriousness, there are times I feel  the P-17 is far and away the best airgun for the money.  The 1377 is the closest thing.

Curses! I've been foiled again!!
I've been reading this thread and got curious about this P17. So I bought one. Its your fault!!

I do have a question though: Am I supposed to clamp it to my shirt?

The mechanism of the action is very interesting. I'd describe it as a mix between a break-barrel and a multipump.
I wonder if its possible to put that technology on to a bullpup platform and upscale it to higher power.

youre welcome  8)

i wish someone had dragged me to this gun YEARS ago.

if youre looking for power,go elsewhere.

but if you want more accuracy than you ever expected possible from $30 this is it.

i have a 2x pistol scope coming for it today,
the red dot greatly enhanced aiming precision,
but i have a feeling the scope is going to be even better.

So I'm already modding it (in my mind). I have a spare Crosman barrel lying around somewhere. What exactly needs to be done to the barrel to make it fit? Just a bit of turning to change the OD?

I will certainly test it out, but the main reason for me to mod it is to put a TKO on it.

FWIW I would be using a Discovery barrel. Aren't those better than a standard Crosman?

My Alecto/Zoraki has been asking for a little brother.

i had thought about one of the stretch over grips with finger grooves,
i have used then before and they did well.

I got curious after seeing Stalwart mentioned a few times here so I sent an email asking about pricing on one of his Stage 1 pistols. Finally got a reply back today after a week wait to say he's in process of moving his shop to a new building but once he's back up running, it's $179 for the labor, no mention of the pistol or shipping being included in that cost, so as good as they may be when he's done, think I'll either just tinker on my own or add the extra $20 or so and spring for the real version Beeman P3 it's cloned from.
