FWIW I’ve used the clamp-on version extensively for about a year now and I don’t think it has ever missed a reading. Somehow it seems really tolerant of muzzle blast, even the cold cloudy vapor of a wasteful CO2 airgun.
Could someone please provide a link for the Amazon version of this Muzzle speed Meter with tripod? Thanks,Soar

The $28.92 unit originally referenced in this thread is the tripod version and can probably still be had on AliExpress for around $30. This looks like the tripod unit on Amazon for $44, which was the lowest I could find in a quick search:

Just goes to show how Amazon plays with the pricing.
I tried again with the 0.22" Streamline at high power with the muzzle 7 inches away from the first sensor and now it seems to be making sense.I got this 5 shot string in meters per second: 258, 262, 260, 260, 259 for a 259.8 average.

I think that for many of us the extra cash is hard to justify for this accessory. You need a cronograph of some kind to tune an airgun. So for some of us it's this or nothing. It's not better in some ways, but it is affordable. I HAVE shot a Caldwell, I never shot the clamp on.Hunter
