Mine never showed any lights when i plugged it in, it has been working since new though.  I just figured it had a full charge when shipped..I did leave it plugged in for a few hours, so hopefully it is just the indicator light malfunctioning.  Time will tell, but at 20-30 $ not too concerned.

I got mine three days ago and have been using it daily to finally tune my new Synrod. It hasn't skipped a shot and is extremely consistent, allowing me to finally have this gun fine tuned for multiple setups from a high power tune with lower shot count to one that will give me 60+ shots at lower power on a charge. It's given me an understanding of how this great gun works I could not have learned without it.

Thirty bucks, absolutely simple to use anywhere and any time regardless of light or no light. It's small enough to stick in any bag or even a coat pocket and take wherever you go. The rechargeable battey lasts a long time but it can be charged in any usb outlet in a home, car, or from a pocket usb charger so you'll never have it run out of power.

Like I said... everyone should have one of these whether you have a "normal" chrony or not. Once you do it's my bet this one will get used far more often than the one you paid the big bucks for.

I love this little chrony so much that I went to buy another about two weeks before covid-19 and I still have not seen it. I just emailed the store that I bought from on Aliexpress and they still believe I will get it. We'll see. Other orders have taken 3 months too, so they may be right. At the moment if you are going to get one of these, order from a dealer that stocks them in whatever country your in, or settle in for a long wait.

It took a while but was well worth it IMHO,.

Ordered on 7-3-20 from Amazon and got it the 22nd. Not as long as it seemed I see.

I was going to get a chrony for years but couldn't justify it. Once I got the Mrod it was a necessity, and I'd settled on a nice one but it was spendy. About the same time I began reading about this one and as the rave reviews from users kept coming in I decided to try one. I am SOOOOO glad I did.

A tip to users of the one I have, the one that clamps onto the barrel, that lets me slip it on and off easily without messing with the four screws all the time.

My wife got some little finger sleeves, kinda useless IMO for what they were purported to do, that I slip onto the end of my barrel. I put the clamp (the two V-shaped ones, not the big U-bolt) on and have it just tight enough to hold the chrony nice and stable, but not tight. Since I have been shooting so much tuning, then refilling the gun, which I can't do with the chrony on the barrel, I just slip it off and fill then slip it back on to shoot.

I was going to line it with tape or something like I've seen. Then I remembered these things laying around and tried it. Some of the stuff she gets off her bargain sites, maybe a lot of it lol, turns out to be good for nothing... except for my repurposing.

I've never owned or even used a crony before! Can anyone tell me how the U bolt is used? It seems redundant with the barrel clamp? And while I owe thanks to many here for the help and info so freely shared here, this place is costing me money!!!! Since joining I have purchased a 1377 phase 2, this crony, upgrade parts for the 1377 (.22 barrel, steel breech, .22 bolt probe and 1.7X scope) about a half dozen tins of various .22 and .177 pellets and a Beeman p-17!! Actually 2 p-17's one I got screwed on and am disputing the charges!

Take the top of the clamp off and use the U bolt if the barrel is too big for the clamp.

I just used mine for the first time and I am extremely happy!  I had the Caldwell wih all the goodies, but it was always a hastle to set up and was fustrating if the sunlight was too bright. This takes less than 5 minutes to hook up to my barrel and start Chrony. It is accurate enough for my needs. Best bang for the buck!

Much Thanks, so it just replaces the top half of the barrel clamp! Was trying to figure it out using both clamping methods.

WOW!  This is a huge thread. 

Sorry if it was already asked and answered. Do you have to clamp it on the barrel?  I have a floating barrel and shroud and worried the weight will dis-align the shroud and bore.

How heavy is the chrony?

There are two different types. One is a clamp-on version which does clamp to your barrel. The second version though is stand alone and no clamping is necessary. You just need to make sure you shot through it and not actually shoot the chrony  . Both versions are relativity light.
