What DAR Rifle Recall Option did you choose ?

I returned bth .177 and .25, I did not order .22 the first time as I have the Stormrider. But if it is really good I may order one .22 too.

I heard the DAR GenII .22 did better in the winds then a Evol .30 at EBR.
Waiting for a full report to back this info up.

Well actually, the Evol was the new " .22 mini Evol", ... But yes, the .22 DAR did score better in the 50 yd competition.

But in all fairness,
At the time of that particular shooting match,
The winds had picked up quite high, and it was all about reading the wind for all the shooters in the match.

They are the best looking pellets that I have ever seen. I opened the tin and WOW. Had my freedom by the back door loaded some of your pellets in it, had 15.9 hades in it, stepped out side and took a quick free hand shot at an old target and bam the sound of the pellet hitting the target was about twice as loud as the hades. Hit half in half out of the bull on a berchwood  Tracy 3 inch target @ 25 yds. So not only are they pretty but accurate as well. Plinked  a little and all were dead on accurate. Stopped there because they are too good to waste on the freedom set up for low power shooting in backyard. Going to save and try them in my career ll.
Hopefully on some bushy tailed tree rats.

James I'm glad that you like them, I use the 19.6 grainers on Hi power in my Freedom, it's devastating on squirrels.

I don't think they'll work Terry, I was looking around for something that would work myself but never had any luck.  I'll be getting a couple for my .25 when they finally hit the market though.

Just finished mounting an Optima 8x32 scope in FX No Limit rings on the DAR Gen 2 .25
Maybe traveling thousands of miles just to shoot others attracted attention and I got sent one!
 

Now I prefer the scope set up for reaching out to over 100 yards.
It was on my Nova .25 and that Gun will group at 100!
I've been hoping for MONTHS to have this chance and I have 7 full days off to play!

I have no knowledge of that. I was only asked to test the current versions.
I had the first chance in Arizona and shot a couple at 30 yards.
The second chance was in Mississippi. So I have a few thousand miles driving in to shoot others guns.
All thought great shooters? I still wasn't totally convinced since those guns were test guns and worked on.
That has all changed with the .25 I was sent to actually test on my home turf.
No mods. Straight out of the box as received. Not even cleaning the barrel! Just fill, load, and shoot!

Now I'm told any barrel issues have been fixed and the triggers will come with a factory polish!
The one I have does not have that factory polish but the trigger is better then a few MRods I've had so is not an issue for me at this time.

I filled the Gun to max pressure knowing it's regulated. I tried regs in my Hatsans and really didn't care for them.
I have a compressor so shot count don't mean much to me. But I will say this gun's regulator impressed me right off.
Just the sound of the JSB 25 gr hitting the target told me it was hitting hard! And I didn't wait long between shots.
It took me 5 shots to zero the Optima 8 - 32 set on 10 power at 30 yards. The last 5 rounds were near hole in hole.
I followed up with another magazine with 10 rounds and it could be covered with a quarter.

Shooting off a Caldwell dead shot I never think that's bad as it's not a super stable shooting platform.
Now I know my home range and my scopes. I pull up and adjust for a long range shot out to a beer can on a stick about 73 yards.
I use the hold over I know worked with the Hatsan Nova. Then pull the trigger.
I was not real confident I'd hit it with the 16 inch barrel to be honest.
Picture me surprised as that 1st shot spun the can around the stick!

I took a short break and then decided maybe that was a lucky shot. It happens.
I went back to try to repeat the shot. Wind flag said no wind so I aimed again.
AGAIN that can spun around the stick!
My whole goal to get my hands on the Gen 2 .25 was to do a NUAH target.
I will admit I was skeptical it could do it with the short barrel.

I'm pretty danged sure it will now!

Does anyone know if the Gen2's are choked or not?
Are any of the Beta testers shooting slugs in the Gen2?

They are not choked...neither the gen 1 nor the gen 2.  I have not tried slugs but I will say the .177 or .22 cal would be a better platform than the .25 if you intend to keep the regulator.  In .25 cal, the plenum is not big enough to make big power with heavy slugs. 

Pretty much all my shooting is 70 yards or less and both the .22 and .25 I have are pinpoint accurate with JSB pellets.  Many sub-MoA groups at my common target practice distance of 43 yards.

I know I'll be trying some slugs soon.
As Jason stated, to make a good .25 slug shooter will probably require removal of the reg.
But that is for later.

I have had my DAR .25 doing about 8 regulated shots at 65fpe but without modifying the gun I'd say a person would be better off shooting heavy pellets through it.  Right now mine is tuned for about 25 regulated shots using my cast NOE 26 grainers that are doing about 50fpe and it's extremely accurate at 50 yards with them.  My cast pellets are a little longer than the 25.39 JSB's and out shoot them in this gun IMO.

I invited a friend to stop by just to catch up and spend a bit of time shooting. He checked out the DAR and had some really nice things to say about it.
After we shot that and a RS mini-carbine he pulled out his FX for me to shoot.
I'd never shot the gun before. Didn't even have a scope I like.
Granted the cocking and trigger were better (DAR has never been worked on) I found absolutely no difference in accuracy!
I took several shoots at a 25 yard target to get use to the scope. I was only bracing against the door frame and it was holes touching.
So I took a long shot. Now I did not adjust the AO so target was burry. Ting! I hit. No big deal I know my home range and hold over.
I decided for the beer can on a stick. Took a couple shots to get the windage down but I hit it.

Now.
Given I have just shot a very expensive gun that just duplicated what is a way cheaper and out of the box with no mods gun?
I'll leave that up to you to decide what you want to do.
I know some of my biggest Illusions were shattered today.

Jeff all three of my DAR's are amazingly accurate.  Right now I've got my .25 doing about 50fpe with my 26 grainers that I cast and at 50 yards they're just amazing in the accuracy department.  These guns are about the easiest to work on that I've ever had experience with, an excellent design that gets the job done in a NICE lightweight package.
