can you share a link to a rod you guys use to push a pellet through the barrel? I need to buy one...

to push a pellet through I use a 1/8" wood dowel.
For polishing the bore I bought this.

Ray - Have you tried the JSB Hades? I'm using them and so far my Liberty is loving 'em.

No I have not ordered those yet.  I do not think my issue is with pellet preference.  It is the barrel or the gun.  I will know for sure when I swap barrels.

Any rod will do for that purpose...a $10-15 kit from a local store is fine.  If you plan to get a rod for deburring/polishing the bore, that’s when a ball-bearing type is needed to ensure it turns effortlessly to follow the rifling. I use a Dewey rod for anything .22 cal and larger.  https://www.brownells.com/gun-cleaning-chemicals/cleaning-rods-amp-accessories/cleaning-rods/stainless-steel-rods-prod5635.aspx  I had difficulty finding a good one for .177 so I bought a couple of ball bearings on eBay (4mm ID to match the rod) and used threadlocker to affix them, and fitted a piece of dowel over them as a handle.

Check the link below for rebuilding the pump.  I used two 006 urethane D90 o rings on the high pressure or 3rd stage piston on mine and pumps great now.

Just received my deburring tools today, and I think this was already answered but I cannot find the post.

Can I remove the barrel without degassing the gun? It looks to me it should be ok but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I just looked, the barrels are the same part number so I do not see why they would not.  Someone had posted that they do not interchange but I will know soon.  Unfortunately with my stupid broken left wrist i am moving at about 1/2 speed with some things.   

I have a .22 barrel coming on Wednesday for my SSP-250 which is something i have wanted to do for years.  That may override the Novas for a few days.

Just tried some more pellets in the Freedom.

First the bad- Benji hollow points only do about 3/4 - 1 inch, which is not all that bad really.

JSB 18s shoot the same tight groups on LO as they do on Hi.

JSB 14.3 - pretty well HI or LO

AA 16 on LO put 6 in a hole that was barely larger that the pellet.  That's a rockstar combo there!  The 16s are not so great on HI.

Trigger is still in the stock configuration and a bit heavy.  i will lighten and smooth it out and that will help too.

In contrast, My Liberty does not shoot ANYTHING well on LO and a complete re zero is required to even use it.

Can all of this be cured with a barrel swap?  Jeez I really hope so.  I am just blown away by the way the Freedom is shooting compared to my Liberty..

Did the barrel swap today.  Straight swap as suspected. Now my Liberty is dead nuts.  The barrel that came with my Liberty is quite a bit tighter than the one which came with my Freedom.  I do think the Liberty barrel can be lapped into shape.  I need to get the felt pellets and do some more studying though.
The only difference I saw between the barrels is that two inches of the OD is turned down like the breach end on my Liberty barrel, Freedom is not.

Ray I'll bet they turned that barrel after it was rifled on the Liberty and it choked the barrel there.  Probably hogging to much material to fast.

FWIW: Both of my Liberty's were turned down slightly at the breech end.  One was "tight" for the full length, the other on the "loose" side.  That was with pushing 18.1g JSB's through the bore.

Does anyone else have a barrel with the muzzle end turned down like the breech end?

Yesterday I was testing the accuracy of the gun after drilled the barrel port and deburring it and I'll say the accuracy improved a lot just by doing that, I think the out of the box barrel had a burr because I was not getting these groups. I did the first two on top and I was WOW and went ahead and recorded the two groups below.... 5 shots each.

I start chrony the first shots and I saw crazy numbers, like first was 930, then 960 then 980 then back to 940  and by looking at that I decided not to chrony more and shoot the gun a bit and I'll chrony later, maybe today to see what was the impact of drilling the port to 3/16 increasing reg pressure by 1/8 turn and adding one washer on the hammer spring...

I can see how fixing the burr in the "barrel" would effect your improved accuracy.

I just opened a bit more the barrel transfer port (is that the name???) to 3/16, it was a bit smaller than that, but after drilling I created a lot of burr, then I went ahead and deburred with the tools that Jason suggested. I'm heading out to chrony again today after a few shots yesterday.... will record it!

Just wanted to make sure before I attempt to do mine. Goes without saying that drilling the transfer port will be the trickiest part.
I already ordered and have in my possession the tools Jason suggested.
Looking forward to the crony results and which pellet you used.
