The way that I see it the weight definitely is going to make a difference because it only stands to reason that a heavy one is going to drop faster than a light one.  The spin will probably make a difference with a high velocity and low velocity as well but don't mark my word.  I know that when I use to do chrony tests with the JSB's I'd weigh each pellet individually and use that for figuring out my fpe etc.

Matt,I have my Liberty that I bought new on the Black Friday sale and I have a Freedom that was a no warranty return gun with quite a few shots through it.  The pump piston seals were shot in the Freedom.

Both are .22.   

 The Liberty has several thousand pellets through it.  A few deep cleanings with brass brush and JB etc. polished leade, deburred port, crown polished,  moved power around, shot strings are good.It has only started to shoot good groups and they are not great yet, or fully reliable yet.
Best pellet - AA 18s2nd best JSB 18.13s
Barracuda Match are very so-so   with occasional groups which are acceptable, but usually nothing under an inch.
Pellets which surprise me - JSB Ultrashock at 25 gr, JSB Monsters and redesigned( they switch depending on the day) but usually 1/2" groups. 
All at 30 yds.

Seneca 28s are usually pretty good but not great.  Piledrivers -usually about 1 1/2"JSB 15.89s and AA 16s willy usually shoot pretty well but are really screaming at current power level.

On the flip side, my Freedom I received last week.  rebuilt the pump on Saturday and was finally able to shoot it.  As I said this gun has been shot a lot.  The leade is still sharp and unpolished, but the barrel was clean.
Started shooting Barracudas- 5 in a small ragged hole.  JSB 18s pretty much the same.  Have not gotten to any other pellets yet.  Six groups and pretty much all the same.  Still need to do the trigger and some other things.
I think some of these barrels are just a little less great than others.  I plan to polish the bore in my Liberty and i think it will continue to improve.  If the barrels will swap I'm probably going to do that.  I have another Freedom parts gun on the way.

As for pellets, I have run a good 15 or 20 brands, styles, weights, head sizes etc. through the Liberty and do not see a trend which is disappointing.  But I love these guns.

The first thing I did with my Liberty was pull the barrel off and clean it thoroughly, then pushed one of my cast pellets through it, a GTO and a JSB, they all looked good so I reassembled it and didn't really shoot it till I got a probe for it in the mail, all I've been doing since is shooting it with the tune that it came with.

If the barrels will swap I'm probably going to do that.  I have another Freedom parts gun on the way.

I just looked, the barrels are the same part number so I do not see why they would not.  Someone had posted that they do not interchange but I will know soon.  Unfortunately with my stupid broken left wrist i am moving at about 1/2 speed with some things.   

I have a .22 barrel coming on Wednesday for my SSP-250 which is something i have wanted to do for years.  That may override the Novas for a few days.

Just tried some more pellets in the Freedom.

First the bad- Benji hollow points only do about 3/4 - 1 inch, which is not all that bad really.

JSB 18s shoot the same tight groups on LO as they do on Hi.

JSB 14.3 - pretty well HI or LO

AA 16 on LO put 6 in a hole that was barely larger that the pellet.  That's a rockstar combo there!  The 16s are not so great on HI.

Trigger is still in the stock configuration and a bit heavy.  i will lighten and smooth it out and that will help too.

In contrast, My Liberty does not shoot ANYTHING well on LO and a complete re zero is required to even use it.

Can all of this be cured with a barrel swap?  Jeez I really hope so.  I am just blown away by the way the Freedom is shooting compared to my Liberty..

What size head on the Barracudas? I have 5.53 head size and they group well from my Liberty, just have a lot more drop than the JSB 15.89' or 18.13's.

I have run at least a tin each of all three sizes through it.  It won't shoot them.

got  to work on a plenum...i think i am going crazy...going to pull a half nighter and finish up tomorrow so i can wrap up the .177 project. hoping the plenum will push the 15.5grs to 1000fps. already at 980fps with my new valve.

Had the opportunity to stretch the Nova's legs this weekend a bit. Here's a Rock Hyrax that took a shot to the neck from 101m.

The wind was doing it's bit so took 4 shots to figure out what the horizontal adjustment should be and on lucky number 5 it was a solid hit.

Grouping out at that range is probably around 5 inches, so not as great as the FX's but once again the Nova is nowhere near the same price category!! 

Just to add: I was shooting JSB 18.39gr pellets at 870fps average.

Have you drilled your barrel to 3/16? If so can you explain how you deburred? Specially the inside, I'm not sure I have a nice flat surface on the inside, really hard to reach.

How I do it...

deburr the barrel port - Use a small diamond ball burr to radius the edges of the barrel port.  An assortment like this runs less than $10: .  What I do is load a 3/32" (for .177 cal) or 1/8" (for .22 cal or larger) diameter ball into the Dremel running at its lowest speed, and work it from inside the hole and up over the sharp edge all the way around the perimeter of the hole.  Don't go crazy with it; the radius need only be five or ten thousandths (0.005" - 0.010").  Just trying to get rid of the wire edge left from the drilling operation.  Then take a small dowel or skewer wrapped in 320 then 400 grit to polish the newly-formed radius.  Apply some light oil (mineral oil, WD40, etc.) to help shed the swarf.  Since this work is done at a shallow angle, round over the end of the dowel so it can dip into the hole as you pass it back and forth.  Expect to chew up the paper a couple of times; just keep refreshing the abrasive and work it until it is smooth.  It will become apparent when you've done enough because the paper will no longer be as apt to shred.

While we're at it, notice the remnants of the rifling and general surface roughness in the photo above.  These are indications of an inadequately prepared leade.  This region will benefit from being worked smooth.

Those ball burrs work fantastic for a barrel port, I used one on a Crosman barrel (it was brand new straight from Crosman too) and it worked fantastic.  I usually get that stuff on Ebay cheaper than Amazon for the exact same product.

Agreed.  I did not have one that would work at the time.  I have two different assortments now.

can you share a link to a rod you guys use to push a pellet through the barrel? I need to buy one...

Any rod will do for that purpose...a $10-15 kit from a local store is fine.  If you plan to get a rod for deburring/polishing the bore, that’s when a ball-bearing type is needed to ensure it turns effortlessly to follow the rifling. I use a Dewey rod for anything .22 cal and larger.  https://www.brownells.com/gun-cleaning-chemicals/cleaning-rods-amp-accessories/cleaning-rods/stainless-steel-rods-prod5635.aspx  I had difficulty finding a good one for .177 so I bought a couple of ball bearings on eBay (4mm ID to match the rod) and used threadlocker to affix them, and fitted a piece of dowel over them as a handle.
