Probe and barrel swap. fpe should be the same if not more due to the bigger bore.

It will be more than what you can get with a 22 barrel. 


PS: You would be able to make mags from Mrod ones, like I did for the 25 cal fortitude.

No, made the mag as thin as the 22 mag.  It will still fit the 34g JSB's.

That’s a great way to do it. Since I have a mill I just don’t think of it that way anymore. Well, I will still mill my receiver to accept more unmodded mags and able to go with longer pellets like poly mags and my own 46 grains in .25 cal which is .425 long.

I just saw PA has the Aspen listed in .25 with 800 FPS claim 

BB pellerier was't to impressed with it and IDK if was just his gun or not but accuracy didn't seem that good. He seems to think the aspen/freedom are best suited for .22

Alright guys, I'm happy to report that the "returned, defective, malfunctioning" $100 gun I got from ATI is extremely accurate.  So, I put it in my wood stock.  Here is a 10 shot group at 52 yards.   I'm using H&N Barracuda Match 21.13 grain pellets.  Only thing I've done to the gun is turn the regulator disk 3/8 of a turn, and I added two shims to the hammer spring.  I haven't chrony'd it yet tho, but I will soon.  I'm probably gonna leave it just like this because it is shooting extremely well.  I'd love to know why someone returned this gun !

After adding the scope to the rifle I notice that the stock looks like designed around the open sights, with the scope in, when I aim, I'm using the cheek piece more like a chin piece, because I have to raise the head a lot. I notice this while mounting the scope yesterday, with the open sight I don't recall this awkward feeling. Do you have the same experience? Have you done anything about it?

You are correct, the stock appears to have been designed for the iron sights, and not a scope.  I added a 1/4" neoprene pad, but, it still is not quite enough with medium rings.

I put one of the beartooth comb raisers on mine. Works well but is not pretty.  Looked into some kydex risers but required drilling .250 holes in stock. Not ready to do that yet.

I also got a $100 nova freedom.  I've been wanting one for a while, but $400 was a bit high for me.  So far, it shoots.  I still have to shoot it a LOT more to determine accuracy.  It also somewhat holds air.  I think that it lost a 100psi or so overnight, so, I'm not sure if that is normal or not, but when I'm shooting it, i'll take 5 shots, then pump it about 3 pumps per shot, and keep shooting.  it pumps back up to whatever I keep it at.. and stays there.   again, I'm not sure why someone returned the gun.  I figure for $100, what the *(&^, if it dont work, I can probably fix it, but so far it seems to be working.... but I need a good bit more time with it.  I guess I got lucky with both "returned" guns.

Orion, I have the same problem trying to mount the scope as low as possible to use the cheek piece. Best compromise is a Hammers 3x9-32 scope with medium mounts. The shroud is high to the receiver which makes mounting a scope any lower difficult. Beartooth risers work well, looking for a cheaper solution. Dave

I think that the open sights that come with these guns really look nice and if they work good I'm going to use them rather than a scope because I'm not a paper puncher to begin with and will basically use it for hunting red squirrels this summer plus it has the power for an occasional Ghog when I happen upon one.  I'll try mounting a scope on it and if it seems ok I'll try it, I've got all the different height's to try it with.  From what I've been reading these guns are plenty powerful enough from the box to sling the heavier pellets good and being they're a slower twist and unchoked I have a feeling they'll shoot my 23 grainers good.

Sorry am on my phone, but look up Goda grip on YouTube, they make some nice peel and stick comb risers in different heights.
