I was referring to possible pressure still in plenum, regulator and valve. The silver pressure release screw might only release pressure from the front side of the block ( Reservoir tube). Always a good pratice to safely dry fire a couple of times to make sure all the pressure is gone. Not being critical at all, just trying to offer a possible explanation.

I think it is buried somewhere earlier in the thread about the plenum holding pressure.  The bleed is on the air tube side ahead of the plenum and reg.  Just need a few dry fires to empty the plenum.

Another excellent video Thank you!! I drilled the barrel port to 3/16" added the shim on the HS and turned my regulator up today. It seemed to up the FPS by about 100FPS but I still seem to be a little low on power.

I was thinking it maybe my chrono (the Chinese clamp on) giving me a low reading but everyone that has one says they are very accurate compared to the more expensive versions. Here is 30 shot string I just did from my AT44 which seems like it is in line with what the AT44 should be shooting.

I am not sure why my gun seems to be low on power I would like to try to get up to 40FPE but am unsure on what else to try. Maybe one more washer on the HS?

That looks pretty good! What speed are you trying to get? I’m focusing on the CPHP. You are doing almost 1000fps.

Are you hunting? I’m asking because unless you are hunting and really need this power I’ll recommend to check increases in power with accuracy changes. Some pellets prefer to be shot in the 800 for better stability.

I learned a lot when I was shooting my TX 200, that gun is as accurate as any pcp.. in the 40 yard range. I tuned the spring and while doing so, the recommended option is going with the low power one to increase accuracy, well not 100% relevant with this scenario because with springers there are other factors...but what I want to say is that not always more is better. I think, in my opinion, you have a really nice tune there.

My advice, shoot the *(&^ out of that gun now and enjoy it!! Unless you really need that power for hunting for example.....

Not hunting unless you count ground squirrels and hosps but I see everyone else getting more power so figured why not!!

 I do have 70 yards on my property and could probably stretch it out to a hundo if I move some stuff around. I usually shoot around 40-60 yards though. Mine seems to really like the Baracuda Match so I guess I’m looking to shoot those a little faster.

First see where the reg is set by observing where the fps drops off. Then I would turn the reg up another 1/8 turn CCW. Adding shims to a lower reg setting will waste air. If you don't get the 40 fpe with the reg turned up 1/4 turn CCW then add an additional shims. You what to balance the hammer spring tension with the reg pressure.

Stephen, I tested the valve I made and was maxing out at 1107fps with 14.3grains. but pushing 28.6 grains only at 845fps. With 2 shims to the hammer spring and reg turned 1/2 CCW. The ports are at .217 from exhaust to barrel.

There are two screw ups that made me think I am not getting the speed I was trying To get. I messed up the TP port ...one section was oblong to .250 by the power wheel. This probably is messing with air flow.
The other is the brass tip that seals against the brasswheel is shortened due to damage. This makes it hard to get consistent settings with you guys. My psi seems to be around 2300psi...I need a nanometer badly. And an adjustable hammer spring tensioner.

I am going to put this on a halt for now and focus on the Gauntlet .25...getting 60fpe at 2000psi. But it has much more plenum compared to Liberty. Liberty only has 10-12ccs total. Boy 60fps hitting 2x4 and passing it at 5 feet. I need the Liberty to do that...bigger plenum coming in with 7075 bar. We will see

Thanks for the info. Troy Hammer is looking at making a HS adjuster and possibly a steel TP wheel so that we can safely open the TP without fear of failure. Troy did mention that there is a shelf on either side of the TP wheel opening that could possibly limit how large of a diameter the new bolt/wheel can be. I'm waiting on his findings and will report ASAP.

Ok, here's the latest...  I removed the barrel again and crowned it using a dremel, round ball bit and then the brass screw with valve grinding compound.  Then I re-dressed the TP hole in the barrel that I previously drilled out to 3/16".  I may have had a burr in there.  First off, this rifle absolutely HATES JSB heavies 18gr.  They are still shooting 8 to 10 inch patterns.  I also tried some CPHP and they are hitting the target completely sideways, and all over the place.  I've adjusted the reg 1/2 turn ccw and shimmed the hammer +.1 inch.

HOWEVER, I next tried the H&N Barracuda Match 21 grain and they shot pretty decent.  the attached pic shows a 6 shot group at 52 yards.. along with my thumb.  I now need to chrony it and see where the power is.  I also noticed that if I DO or DONT let the reg "settle" by waiting a while between shots, the POI changes..vertically about 1 to 2 inches.   The rifle is also somewhat hold sensitive.  I think that I'm gonna take the barrel off one more time and push some pellets through it to see what I get.  Then maybe I will use some valve grinding compound and shave down the 'step' in the barrel at the breech, and then maybe "LAP" the barrel.... although I've never done that... so I'll have to do some more homework on exactly how that is done.  But, for now, it's better than it was, but still no where near the accuracy of the Gauntlet.    Cheers

Wow, that's a remarkable 52 yard group, especially for it to be spraying JSBs and CPHPs.  Those are 3 pellets I always test and I can't say I've ever seen such a marked difference between them.  Seldom if ever do the CPHP impress at those distances but if they're going sideways, I would not suspect the barrel is the chief culprit in light of how the Baracudas grouped.  Perhaps they are going supersonic and beginning to spiral.

I have no idea why the JSB 18's would do so poorly except I have noticed some barrels that have a burr (whether at the barrel port, leade, or crown) tend to be more tolerant of Crosman pellets than JSB.  My guess is that the harder alloy of the Crosman pellets doesn't get damaged as badly as the softer JSB.

If you take the barrel off again, push a couple of each pellet through and inspect them under magnification, or post a closeup photo here and I'll see if I can spot anything out of the ordinary.

I just bought a JSB pellet sample kit and mine also seems to hate JSB pellets, especially those with less than 5.52 skirt diameter.  H&N's are still its favored pellet.

Do you mean head diameter?  The skirts should always be quite a bit larger than that, usually larger than 5.6mm in my experience.  Some I just checked were 5.64 - 5.66mm for example.
