What airgun related did you do today?

Nothing yet, and for sure there will be no shooting for at least a few days.

Weather is fine. I sprained my thumb yesterday (unrelated to shooting), grrrr. Totally preventable. Add me to the list of “DOH! Why wasn’t I more careful?!” regretters.

I think I can still cut potatoes in half for grilling, but the pork chop might get eaten a la Fred Flintstone. Look ma! No knife!

This pales relative to Ron’s lymphoma. Best wishes for knocking that one out, Ron! Also to Madd Hatter, belatedly!

I spent a couple of hours shooting and comparing the triggers of my Crosman 362 and 3622.  Conclusion?  Fundamentally no difference.

 Installed a JM indoor plinkers kit in the HW50S .177. Really smooooooth.
Seems to have dropped velocity only about 60 fps or so. I like it!

LOL... no need.. I forgot that the pics I take with my cell phone automatically go to the cloud and she has access. She already texted and asked what I was going to do with that mess. She told me it was too close to the stove.

Only a little bit air gunnish, but I threw a rock at a really fat squirrel that has been hanging out here too much. I hope it’s not preggo or seeking places to chew an entry hole.

The first two rocks missed; the squirrel was so cocky it didn’t move away even with the rocks flying by. It actually turned to look at me better! I was so ticked that my third rock whacked it right in the head, knocking it off the branch.

I’ll be looking for it again, in case it didn’t get the message.

Rocks-in-Head did not show today, that I know of. I was out most of the day, though. The White-Breasted Nuthatches announced themselves with great vigor when I came home. I tucked a few peanuts in one of “their” tree holes as one perched inches away, ready to pluck them away and, hopefully, hide them from the thieves. I won’t put nuts out unless the birds are right there, watching. All because the hairy-tailed tree rats take them.

A family of Common Gray Foxes patrols through here many nights. The growing kits are like adolescent brats lately—jumping on the birds’ water bowl/bath so that it falls to the ground, emptied, and knocking a gamecam off its stand. Maybe they savor the taste of squirrel. One can hope so.

1.3miles woodswalk on USACOE permission with the Notos RunNGun load out.  2 tree rat encounters 1 shot at 40+ yards which I missed low (forgot to guestimate hold over).  Three Darwin Award Candidate fawns crossed the main trail at 6p in broad daylight.  At first seeing the ears and some brown I thought it was a huge rabbit until I scoped up and confirmed it was a white-tail head.  Walking back to the car a Doe ran down a familiar draw right at 730/dusk...noted it on my OnX app.  Next to the car was a nutter, decided not to shoot out of the permission into the County road and watched him balance beam down the neighbor's fence just over the permission line....
Putting the Notos away there was a final Doe standing in the County Road about 50 yards away.  A good day's walk and relaxing.

Replaced the piston o-ring in my 880. Can't say how many shoots through it, but a lot. Thought the valve seal went or maybe had debris in valve, while pumping you could hear a hiss and I thought it was from the barrel... Like a dumdum I stuck it in the back of the closet to be fixed "someday". It's just a cheap wmart 880 but has a ton of sentimental value to me. Had I known it was just a couple minute job and a cheap o-ring...

Mine developed the hiss after only six months since I replaced o-rings. The gun is resting until I can dedicate a chunk of time to fixing it, because I don’t want to disassemble it and have parts lying around on my table/desk.

I thought how easy it would be to just go to Walmart and buy a new gun, but this one shoots well and I don’t want to give up on it so quickly. Have a general dislike of our disposable-goods prevalence.
